The welterweight division will definitely be showcased at UFC 111 in Newark, N.J. on March 27, as another top fight has been confirmed for the card. American Top Team standout Ben Saunders returns to action to face Top 10 competitor Martin Kampmann in a main card bout for the event.

The fight was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday by sources close to the bout, saying the fighters have agreed, although bout agreements have yet to be signed.

Kampmann (16-3) was quickly rising up the UFC welterweight division following a win over former WEC champion Carlos Condit in 2009, but that plan was put on hold when he ran into British wrecking machine Paul Daley.

Originally scheduled to face Mike Swick at the event, Kampmann took on Daley on short notice and paid for it after a punishing stand-up affair left the Dane rocked several times before having the contest stopped, leaving him with the TKO defeat.

Kampmann returned to action earlier this month and stopped Jacob Volkmann with a strong counter attack before submitting him with a guillotine choke to get the win.

Saunders (8-1-2), one of the fastest rising stars to come out of American Top Team, bounced back quickly following a disappointing loss to Mike Swick, bludgeoning tough as nails fighter Marcus Davis with knee strikes, getting a devastating knockout win in November 2009.

While Saunders may train with some of the best jiu-jitsu instructors in the world at American Top Team, it's his head rattling Muay Thai that has gained him notoriety of late, stopping two opponents with knee strikes from the clinch.

The bout between Saunders and Kampmann will likely make the main card for the event, which will also feature Saunders? teammate, Thiago Alves, as he looks for revenge against Jon Fitch.
