I havent seen this posted yet...There was a couple of james irvin threads so here is a possible answer..

James Irvin (14-5 MMA, 4-4 UFC) will return to the UFC as a middleweight when he takes on Alessio Sakara (14-7 MMA, 5-4 UFC) at "UFC on Versus 1: Vera vs. Jones."

The bout was first reported by MMAWeekly.com, and MMAjunkie.com (http://www.mmajunkie.com) confirmed the addition late Thursday evening with sources close to the situation.

"UFC on Versus 1: Vera vs. Jones" is slated for March 21 at The Odeum in Broomfield, Colo., and features a light heavyweight clash between Jon Jones and Brandon Vera.

Irvin, 31, has been kept from competition by a series of complications in and out of the octagon and has not fought since July 2008, when Anderson Silva stopped him in 61 seconds with a devastating series of strikes.

Shortly after the Silva loss, the Nevada State Athletic Commission suspended Irvin for nine months when they found prescription painkillers methadone and oxymorphone in his post-fight drug test. His suspension ended on April 19, 2009.

"The Sandman" has also seen much grief over injuries, which have sidelined him from four UFC fights.

At UFC 71, the longtime light heavyweight tore his ACL and MCL in a bout with Thiago Silva and was unable to continue. When preparing for Drew McFedries at UFC 98 ? his middleweight debut ? Irvin tore the ligaments again and was forced to withdraw from the card. He was scheduled to fight Wilson Gouveia at UFC 102 this past August but was scratched once again when the knee injury re-surfaced.

In June 2008, a foot injury forced Irvin to withdraw from a fight with Rashad Evans.

Sakara, meanwhile, saw a potential bout with Rousimar Palhares shelved after he suffered an undisclosed injury in preparation for a bout at The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale this past December.

Prior to that, the native Italian put together his first consecutive UFC wins by besting Thales Leites on points at UFC 101 and knocking Joe Vedepo out by head kick at UFC Fight Night 15. The American Top Team fighter will look to make it three in a row when he meets Irvin.

It is unknown at this time whether Irvin vs. Sakara will take place on the televised portion of UFC on Versus 1.

Irvin isnt the greatest fighter in the world but like him or not he does make fights really exciting and usually has great knockouts I personally am very excited to see him back and sakara wont be able to drag **** in this fight like his last or else hes gonna get dropped.

IMO irvin was a good fighter, but the silva

fight did put a dark cloud over things...

as far as suspensions go?

if they (fighters) disclose that they are on

prescription-medication for injuries ahead

of time, are they still held responcible for

having it in their system before & after fights?
