Gegard Mousasi will join Georges St. Pierre in Miami this week to assist the UFC welterweight champion for a part of his training camp in preparation for St. Pierre's title defense against Dan Hardy at UFC 111 on March 27 in Newark, N.J.

Currently in Glendale, Calif., preparing for an appearance on HDNet?s ?Inside MMA? which airs Friday, the Strikeforce light heavyweight champion said he will spend a few days with St. Pierre?s team in Miami, where Mousasi will also attend Strikeforce?s Saturday event at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla. Then, Mousasi will fly with the team to Las Vegas for an additional week of training.

This is going to greatly improve both fighters...They each have something to offer to the other' date=' and can only improve from this...plus, having GSP as a training partner, Gegard might just wanna sign with the UFC sooner than he expected.[/quote']

This is true.

This wont mean **** as far as Mousasi joining the UFC. Dana's stance is if you fight for me that's all you do while under contract. Mousasi wants to stay busy by competing in other tourneys like K1. Strikeforce allows this, the UFC does not * cough* Fedor.

Wow! Getting in with Greg Jackson is the point you are all missing here. Gegard has shown he is the real deal but there were some obvious holes, as with every Dutch kickboxer fighting in MMA. There is no better mind in the business at plugging the holes in a fighters gameplan than Jackson. If Gegard gets the jedi master Jackson to work with him he could become another untouchable in this sport.

Sure training with wrestlers like Nate, GSP, and Rashad will benefit all of them alot, but his biggest benefit could come on the mental side working with Jackson.

The prospect of seeing him here and fighting the top LHW's makes me feel and warm and squishy inside.

I guess the downfall would be as soon as he signed up Rashad would be his new best friend, convenient for Rashad but we wouldn't get to see him beat up by somebody else.
