Shane Carwin and Efrain Escudero Lend A Hand

I'm running a fundraiser to help Ohio-based fighter Chris "The Samurai" Bennett reach the Pan American JJ Championships, and wanted to thank Shane Carwin and Efrain Escudero for the help. We're running this as a raffle, and both men have donated authographed shirts to help out with the fundraiser. It's not often that such high-profile MMA stars are willing to take time to help out someone in need, and I very much appriciate it. Please check out the fundraiser, leave your comments, and donate to have an opportunity to win great prizes donated by UFC fighters.

id be curious to why the website expires before the raffle is even over with .. maybe they haven't payed the fee yet but id definitely not invest anything to this website until an answer is posted .. doesn't appear they have been around for that long .. i haven't searched the websites that they claim to have got prizes from but it doesn't seem necessary at this point cause to many flags in my eye's have been raised ..

1. Why does the website expire before the raffle ends ?

2. The raffle started a few days ago. why is this just being posted now ? let alone not posted at least a week prior to the raffle starting

3. How come the only contact info is for sales ?

Hey there! Let me clarify what I can.

1. I have no idea what you mean by "website expire". I'm just a writer and friend of Chris Bennetts' date=' although I'm running the fundraiser. I'm assuming anything website related would be taken care of by the admin. This fundraiser is also being run on http://www.mmasucka.com, http://www.mmagospel.com and a few others as well.

2. I was using twitter and other internet forums that I had membership to to advertise this previously. Today was my day off, so I signed up here to post.

3. I have no idea about the site contact info, but I can be reached on twitter @MikeHammersmith and the site admin can be reached via e-mail at [email']mmamafia@live.se[/email]

As for the sites giving prizes, http://www.cageplay.com donated four shirts which will be featured in the upcoming drawings, and has a link to the site on their homepage. The others have either added them, or are in the process of adding them.

I can understand being a bit skeptical about fundraisers online, but its the best way to reach a variety of fans and the best way to help Chris out. We decided to do it exclusively though paypal so people wouldn't be so nervous about giving out credit card info or checks, so I had hoped that would put some fears to rest. If you or anyone else have questions, by all means, let me know and I'll be happy to help you.

Well, you admitted yourself that you didn't actually look into it, so I hope not everyone jumps to conclusions, as it would be a shame to shoot Chris in the foot over it. Shane Carwin and Efrain Escudero's management team felt it was legitimate enough to offer up the prizes to help Chris out, and Shane Carwin has been sending out tweets about it as well. If you don't believe this is real, feel free to keep your money I suppose.

Chris Bennett is also going to be filming a video concerning the fundraiser and that should be up on all the participating sites within the next day or two. This is a very worthy cause to help an exceptionally talented fighter reach his goals, and it's not often you can give directly to a fighter without promoters, management or retailers taking a bite out of whatever you give them. This is a grass-roots effort started by people that believe in Chris and his talent, and has picked up steam as companies have seen what we've been doing for the last several weeks, and are lending their aid as well. So, check out the fundraiser page at http://www.mmamafia.net, http://www.mmasucka.com, http://www.mmagospel.com, http://www.cageplay.com or http://www.fightcaps.com and help Chris Bennett get to the Pan Ams!
