if that were true than Hardy would be #2 instead of #4 where he belongs. Its hard to get a second shot at the title even if your the second best. Thiago alves, jon fitch, and marquart are are rightfully more respected in the rankings than the next title challenger. They don't get another chance until every decent contender has gotten a shot, like it or not thats how it works

wow well what can i say.... i dont know who came up with this list but there are a few on there that are questionable, i dont understand how brock is at no1 this must be cause he has the belt, it's not on his mma record as he has only thought 3 guys int he ufc......and one of them beat him lol.

ranks and standings dont realy mean anything tho, it doesnt even determin who gets a title shot shouldn't the number two ranked be fighting the number one ?

IMO is a fine example of the mess in the devisions,

Understandable. I just think since Vitor is getting the title shot he should rightfully be ranked number 2 behind Silva since the UFC considers him the number one contender.

I actually think it's a decent list. People are always going to disagree on rankings. Hardy and Belfort may not be the #1 contender but as far as timing goes they deserve the shot the most.

Why do you think Vitor deserves a shot after only beating Franklin and not even in the division? Granted that Nate already got a shot and lost, he has still worked his way back up to the top while Vitor only had to beat one guy (not even a top contender) in a catchweight fight.

but if it went the way you say, then it would be the same 3 or 4 guys fighting for the belt.

Take MW. Anderson is the top, then everybody says Nate, Hendo, and maybe 1 more deserve a shot. So Nate is #2, he gets a shot and loses, then Hendo, #3 gets a shot and loses, then #4 gets a shot and loses. While anderson was fighting #3 and #4, #2 wins 2 more fights, putting him in contention again, so he gets another shot, meanwhile, #3 wins a couple more, so he is in contention again, and over and over. or, we could say you must have 5 fights before a rematch/second shot. Then the #'s 5,6,7 get a chance at the title.

I dont necessarily agree with Vitor getting a title shot at MW but since he got it over Nate wouldn't that put him at number 2 in the division? Even though he only had one fight and it was at 195

yes at least Nate should Fight Vitor and the the winner have the title shot.

I wonder why dan hardy is #4 and hes fighting for the belt?

haha seems he should be #2?

Agreed' date=' why is Hardy #4? This puzzles me.[/quote']

Simple. Jon Fitch & Thiago Alves are WAY better than Hardy. Koscheck should be higher as well but ehh no big deal.

Gomi is fighting Kenny Florian at UFN 21.

or UFN 3 A.B.

Thanks for the Gomi info.

I agree Alves is better than Hardy, but how do you put the #1 contender at #4. I'm not a fan of Hardy, I'm just wondering how this ranking is done. It doesn't really make sense to me. Thanks again.
