UFC or Strikeforce?

Sorry if there has already been a thread about this. I admit I am a bit lazy. But, what will you be watching tonight, UFC on Spike or Strikeforce on Showtime? It seems once again UFC is releasing a recent PPV card in order to steer fans away from the Strikeforce event, such as it was when Strikeforce held the Fedor/Rogers event. I think the only way UFC will earn viewers tonight is the fact that some fans don't have Showtime, and they are going to have to watch Penn/Sanchez if they want to watch any fights. I'd much rather see the new Strikeforce rather than an old UFC card, even one I admit was pretty good.

What do you guys think?

The UK doesn't get Spike? I didn't know that. So you guys don't get to see the Best Of Pride? (Noticed your avatar)

Nope, none of that. We have ESPN UK, which does Unleashed, MMA Live, All Access and all the cards of the UFC. We have another few smaller channels that air other shows but we don't all have access to Strikeforce, which airs sometimes on tape delay on a channel not available to all formats.

This just shows how much Dana is scared of SF. If SF was really as irrelevant as Dana says' date=' he wouldn't even bother with these weak UFC replays.[/quote']

Lets see.

UFC: Old

Strikeforce: New

UFC: Guida, Florian, Mir, Kongo, Sanchez, Penn.

Strikeforce: Diaz, Lawler, Lashley, Walker, Santos, Hieron, Riggs, Manhoef.

Strikeforce wins via Split Decision.

Kinda bothers me that UFC is doing this. I dunno why really or I can't express it written. It reminds me of an annoying salesman trying to sell me something I already have, while another salesman is simultaneously selling me something different and new.

I suppose I'll be flipping back and forth depending on what is happening on Strikeforce. What's annoying is when I do flip it to Spike I'm sure it'll be on a commercial. It's so ridiculous that there is a commercial after every round opposed to a commercial after every fight. I mean think about it for a 100% fact there will be at least 5 commercials. (Penn/Sanchez fight lasted 5 rounds) I'm ranting sorry :(

I am actually insulted that the UFC feels its fans are only worthy of a recent ppv replay when its being done in attempt to get us to not watch strikeforce........I feel the UFC should show the ppv's on spike approx. a month or so after they air instead of all those ufc unleashed replays........Ill be watching strikeforce tonight, not because i like strikeforce more, but simply because i am a true fan of MMA and will watch live fights anyday over something I already know the outcome of.........NICE TRY DANA

It would be really cool if the UFC and Dana White were doing this strictly for the fans. But to be honest, it's not for the fans. There is no way Dana would just show Penn/Sanchez on Spike for free when he knows people will buy the DVDs if they missed the PPV. They just need something to distract fans from Strikeforce, just in case Strikeforce does somehow equal up to the UFC in the future.

Sucks I don't get Showtime. I tuned in 107 just to rewatch some stuff and didn't realize that they showed different fights sometimes. Got to see the Burns vs Grant fight which was awesome. What a finish by Grant! Burns is one tough dude though, he wasn't even phased at the end of that. I really hope he gets on a roll and ends up back in the UFC as he is always entertaining to watch.

Key word.

He said he can beat Strikeforce with a show hes done 100 times. Thats why he put up these old PPVs.

I love the UFC, the only organization Ive ever liked more than UFC was PRIDE. With this being said, I used to think Strikeforce was a joke and only had maybe 10 good fighters, but I was wrong, Strikeforce is really starting too get some good talent. UFC still has better talent and I still think UFC is better, but Strikeforce is coming up and getting close. Plus all Strikeforce events are FREE which is a plus.
