So_Amazing
Ok, so we have seen the 12:6 elbows being used from the bottom of the guard position. It's obviously legal. So what is stopping people from using it when they have someone's back. I mean you are considered on bottom still, right?

KungFuMaster
Why do you say that? I heard you cannot elbow the back especially the spinal cord. Source is from a supposedly hard core MMA fan.

Uwillsubmit
yep you cant strike the back of the opponent especially the head/neck area for obvious reasons. and the elbows that are used from the bottom to the top/fore head of the opponent (sanchez/guida fight) arent classified as 12-6 elbows they are clasified as your traditional 9-3 elbows

KungFuMaster
I mean the top of the head when you have someones back' date=' not elbowing the back.[/quote']That is bordering on illegal and plus it feels awkward and you could lose your position easily. You are better off with the fists.
