st762410
he reminds me of bj penn in the sense that both of them are black belt jiu-jitsu and both have great boxing skills!! ultimately, both of them finish fights!! u hardly see both of em' win via decision. nick is definitely a top 10 mma fighter. and for ppl who say nick couldnt make it in the ufc, thats why hes not in the ufc, thats not the truth. just because a fighter isnt in the ufc doesnt mean they couldnt make it in the ufc. if thats the case, then fedor, overeem, rogers,etc...arent in the ufc because their not good enuff, right?? dont think so. dan henderson isnt in the ufc, is it cause he wasnt good enuff anymore?? no. its a business, and sometimes the business part doesnt work out for either party. i know one thing for sure, nick diaz is one of my fav fighters to watch....and his stock keeps on rising. dodookid3
he's actually gone to decisions when he was with ufc. im not sure if he got dropped or signed with someone else but he has gone to decisions. yea he beat guys up but theyre against nobodys. the only person that was somebody was frank shamrock and he was past his prime. dont doubt me, diaz is good but he's a snob. but him being a snob aint the case. if diaz fought the top welterweights in the ufc he'll most likely end up losing, most likely via decision. i've never seen any of the diaz lose to submission, ko, or tko so they're probably good but not top 10 pound for pound good. AssassinNinja
he reminds me of bj penn. You made me laugh with those six words. You compared Nick Diaz to BJ Penn. Wow. Also' date=' something about him being in top 10 P4P? Read this. Its already been discussed, and most people were saying how he isn't in the top 10. No way. Sure, hes entertaining to watch, but I can name about 20 names better than him, without breaking a sweat. BJ Penn Fedor Brock Lesnar Frank Mir Minotauro Nogueira Forest Griffin Joe Stevenson Kenny Florian Diego Sanchez Quinton "Rampage" Jackon GSP Anderson Silva Lyoto Machida Rich Franklin Rashad Evans Randy Couture Mark Coleman Matt Hughes Urijah Faber Is Nick Diaz better than ANY of those guys, p4p wise? No.
lilfel
I love Nick and I know Joe Rogan said he thought Nick Diaz was top 10 p4p and 1 of the announcers 4 strikeforce said it 2 nite but no way. Top 20 p4p yes, I believe top 20, this is why he needs to fight a top well respected guy to find out how good he really is, Strikeforce needs to set up a catchweight bout with mr. Hendo and Diaz. nyran125
That cyborg fight was awesome. It was cool seeing Herschal Walker have a go aswell. Yeah Nick Diaz was pretty tough. As far as this thread goes. Nick Diaz is a good fighter, his brother is in WEC anyway but Nick wont have a reason to join UFC if hes a champion at another organisation. As far as Fedor, yep its a business and i dont think he wants to be tied down to a specific organisation like a wwe superstar is. I think he wants more money or something aswell. Strikeforce needs HEAPS more fighters though. But i really enjoyed thier card today. That Cyborg fight kicked fckin ****. If StrikeForce can get more japanese asian fighters and some more world class fighters would be awesome too. If Strikeforce havent spent all their money on paying all the fighters too much, in a few years its definately going to be good competition for UFC. If they dont go BUST before thier Prime time. UCFMRE
Diaz looked really good last night but he did get dropped hard once during the fight. He recovered nicely but a better fighter would have capitalized on his knockdown. He's maybe a top 10 170lber but certainly not a top 10 p4p fighter. He wouldn't stand a chance against GSP, so he clearly isn't even the best 170lber in the game. Strikeforce championships don't really mean anything. Guys regularly get title fights there on their first fight in the promotion. Diaz has skills but you are definitely overstating them based on performances in an inferior league. Kable
Nick Diaz is awesome...don't hate him because he is from Strikeforce. He does have a good set of skills. I was happy that he backed his brother up on his last fight that was pretty cool.

No. The bolded names, are where I would actually say he is as far as his skill set in comparison. The bold/underlined are fighters I know he is better than. Some people just need to give the guy his credit, the Whitemare was anything but a nobody, and Diaz dominated him at his own game.
