Me neither' date='I don't know how the guy goes from taking Rampages best shots and dominating Chuck to getting totally destoyed by the Silva's. I wish he would stop the ****** pinching too, really gross.[/quote']

The What Pinching?????? I think One more Fight and he should be out but since he was on the Ultimate Fighter it's a little unlikely IMO

He is a good fighter with a lot of potential' date=' it's just he isn't consistent so he needs to get on a roll to even think about a title shot. Win or lose he gives a good fight and fights hard. Very unorthodox style and entertaining.[/quote']

^^This

I do think the unorthodox style is his biggest strengh though which makes it hard for most dudes to time him. Imo it has saved him in a few fights

I think jardine needs to take ballet to get more Gracious in the ring ...he is tooo jerky and weird acting....he needs more fluid movement .......that fighting style he has will only get you so far then the wheels fall off.........same with Brock....his little reign is about to end!

I love Jardine, but I'll admit he's probably only an average fighter. He's won against above average fighters but he's also lost to below average fighters (we have to mention houston). Jardine just seems to be hot and cold. Some fights he gets it done and other fights he just doesn't. But regardless, he's always an exciting fighter to watch. And I like his N-I-pple tweaking before he fights. It's hilarious.

You know for quite sometime I have thought Jardine was simply a hot and cold fighter. In reality I do believe he is not. Jardine is a perfect example of the phrase styles make fights. That is why he beats Griffin, Liddell and Vera, and loses to Alexander, W. Silva and T. Silva.

His two most impressive wins are over former champs who are mainly outside brawlers if you will, in the sense that they pick their shots. Griffin just got stuck in a dog fight with Jardine and came up on the wrong end, but Liddell got picked apart from the outside and never got to fight his fight if you will.

Jardine's weakness is aggressive muay thai strikers who love the clinch game - see his above losses.

Bader is a perfect matchup for Jardine if you ask me. If Bader stands with him, Jardine can use his vicious leg kicks to throw off his rhythm and take the step out of Bader. Also we constantly hear about how underrated Jardine's ground game is, which is no surprise being as he trains with GSP, Evans and Marquardt so if Bader can take him down I don't see him being able to hold Jardine down and ground and pound him.

I really think Jardine finds a way to take this decision and starts to creep back into the top 10, which I have him just outside right now.

Great post. I completely agree with the stylistic problems explaining his inconsistency.

Perhaps, and I agree to a point. Styles make fights. But I don't think your theory explains his loss to houston.

All I'd say is he seems to have problems with quick aggression (Wandy, Houston).

I'm sure there's a better way to put it. Jardine's position in the UFC for me might be 9-13?

jardines a threat to many LHW fighters...as i stated b4 i could easily put him at 10th or 11th ranked...his fight against bonnar i had jardine winning, but as we all know leaving it to the judges is not a good idea...and he rocked and hurt houston...his mistake was he went in wild for the kill and got caught...these things happen...he went the distance with rampage which is a great feat for any fighter...and getting knocked-out by thiago and wanderlei shouldnt diminish who jardine is as a fighter...those two are incredible fighters with enormous ko power...i think dana sees this as well and will keep jardine in the UFC for along time to come

LOL! Same here! He reminds me of one of those characters from a movie whose setting is in a correctional facility and he's the in-house pervert.
