What if?

I was watching UFC 92 the other day and was wondering what would have happened had Mir lost to Nog. Do you think Nog would have matched up better with Brock not having faced him and having that uncanny ablitiy to come back after taking some tough punishment. Or would it have been a Nog massicare as it was Mir?

Brock isn't very popular on here but I would have to say the result would have been the same. I don't see Brock being submitted again. Your not going to wrestle an arm away from him. Might be able to get him in a triangle but I see huge slams resulting from that. A kimura maybe but with his wrestling background it would be incredibly tough. I think the only way to beat Brock would be in the stand-up. Best chance goes to Carwin or JDS in my opinion.

I see a similar outcome.

Nog would have submitted him' date=' Mir underestimated Brock and was ****y and thought so casual on the ground. Nog would have been focused and took Brock into the later rounds and would have submitted him.[/quote']

I don't see this outcome at all Nogs only chance would be an early submission ala Mir v Lesnar 1, no chance do I see him surviving Brocks grouns and pound to the later rounds.

Mir did not underestimate him at all eitherhe knew full well what to expect but just couldn't handle Brocks Strength hence the extra 20 pounds he's added since.

Personally i think Nog would have been more difficult an opponent than Mir turned out to be, Brock wouldn't have had the same control on the ground, Nog is an expert in tying people up and working off the bottom, also Nogs threshold for taking a beating is second to none. I could see it being a long fight with a decision victory for Brock if he layed and prayed or a submission victory for Nog in the 4th or 5th.

99 times out of a 100 Nog will beat Brock.

keep telling yourself that.. brock would just overpower old nog and pound the living crap out of him

Please tell me the secret of foretelling the future!! For the both of you, this fight hasn't happened yet so don't say what is going to happen, say what you think is going to happened. Thats the difference of respecting another persons opinion. You think what you think, he thinks what he thinks, not just saying what's going to happen period. . . That just leads to arguments. . .

Loving the lay n pray accusations, if what happens to Mir's face is what happens when Lesnar prays then he is even more powerful than anyone thought. No, Nog would not have beaten Lesnar, he is just too small in comparison. When Lesnar goes for a takedown it is overwhelming size plus years of wrestling experience for which Nog could do little about. And when Lesnar lays on you it is never going to go well - a man of that size laying on your chest will gas you out real quick. Lesnar is beatable, but not by Nog, at least not a that particular time. It is still a fight that may happen, and who knows how much the illness has taken out of Lesnar.
