The latest MMAWeekly World MMA Rankings were released on Wednesday, Feb. 3. This system ranks the Top 10 MMA fighters from all across the world in each of the seven most widely accepted weight classes.

Taken into consideration are a fighter's performance in addition to his win-loss record, head-to-head and common opponents, difficulty of opponents, and numerous other factors in what is the most comprehensive rankings system in the sport.

Fighters who are currently serving drug-related suspensions are not eligible for Top 10 consideration until they have fought one time after the completion of their suspension.

Fighters must also have competed within the past 12 months in order to be eligible for Top 10 consideration.

Funny how in WW. They put Paul Daley ahead of Dan Hardy.

.....very true' date=' and how have they got Koscheck above them both!!! I mean who the hell is writing this stuff? some office cheese who plays golf with a pink and yellow dotted tank top and thinks MMA is an acronym for Multi. Media. Arts [b']or [/b] Muhammeds. Mission. Alliance or some damn crazy s*** ?

Get some proper Mixed. Martial. Arts experts on the job......but I agree with 90%.

True. I think it's near impossible to make a list that everyone will agree upon. It's very subjective but i'm glad there is atleast some form of official rankings.

ill agree with you with that...but i think we can all agree that matt hughes ranked in the top ten?let alone 6th ranked?NOT...lol

Why does everyone have a problem with being number 6 if anything he should be 3-4 his only losses since mid 2001 have been to bj gsp and alves 2 of which have been ww champions and alves is arguabely the number 2-3 guy in the division

because of his performance with serra should say it all...

One performance doesn't erase almost a decade of dominance

But these arent the rankings of the past decade are they? Hughes hasnt done anything in over 2 years and even though he has faced alot of top notch opponents hes lost to them all as of recently, some in devastating fashion and had to LnP Serra to a decision.

Other then Hughes being in that top10 full stop, Evans being above Shogun and JDS being below Cain i like this list.

ha a full thread and no brock haters questioning that hes up there with the best of the world' date=' refreshing to see

mind you no fedor haters either![/quote']

I don't think there can be any argument that he is at the top of the list underneath Fedor. He is the UFC champion and he has beaten Randy and Mir who has beaten Nog. The only argument I can see that someone would make is that Barnett isn't on the list. However, Barnett hasn't competed in over a year and is rightfully not listed on the top ten.

Now, I think Brock will lose his title if he ends up facing a striker like JDS or even Carwin. If Brock faces Mir again, then he will destroy Mir again. It's just a bad matchup and Mir's standup isn't as near as good as he thinks it is.

LIGHTWEIGHT DIVISION (160-pound limit)

#1 Lightweight Fighter in the World: B.J. Penn (UFC)

2. Shinya Aoki

3. Eddie Alvarez (Strikeforce)

4. Kenny Florian (UFC)

5. Tatsuya Kawajiri

6. Joachim Hansen

7. Gesias Calvancante

8. Gray Maynard (UFC)

9. Frankie Edgar (UFC)

10. Gilbert Melendez (Strikeforce)

There are only 4 UFC guys on the LW list and BJ Penn already beat one and will face another in April. I think Dana needs to try to sign Aoki.
