after jon jones decisively beats Vera on March 21st i think his next fight should be either ryan bader (if he wins) or thiago silva would also be a nice fight for jones. opinions???

Thiago Silva would be a good matchup, don't see why he would go up against Bader really though.

This.

If Bones wins' date=' then he should get the [u']loser[/u] of Rampage/Rashad.

If Bones loses, then he should get a rematch with Matt Hamill.

why? so that Hamill can almost die again? If Bones wins, the best scenario would be something like.... Bones vs Vera...Bones wins and fights Thiago, winner fights loser of Rampage Rashad....winner of that becomes number 1 contender but gets the run around for the next year and a half and has to fight Jardine in a tune up bout before fighting Shogun or Machida. while one of these guys mentioned has to face Anderson Silva in a pointless ego match since anderson does not want to fight for the belt at 205. but still wants to have fights at 205 so he can cement his status as one of the best all time, while in the process...ruining the BS rankings that the UFC has irresponsibly neglected to established in the first place. Why the UFC doesnt have an actual set ranking for the public to see...i will absolutely never understand.

Bones can't fight Rashad since they're teammates

You're right' date=' I didn't think about that.

He still can fight him if they want to get it on, I don't think there is any ruling against it unless they just choose not to like Machida and Silva

You're right, there isn't a rule, but teammates usually don't want to fight teammates. They do sometimes though.

Yeah, I just see a possible scenario, however far in the future, that this could be a 'must have' fight. If one ends up the champ and the other ends up the No 1 contender what do they do?

Whoa' date=' whoa, whoa, whoa. Counting Vera out like that is foolish. I like Jones as much as the next guy, but I believe Vera vs Jones is going to be a completely unpredictable and awesome fight. I thought Vera beat Couture. Vera thought he beat Couture. Vera is hungry for the win for sure.

A lot of you guys are agreeing to this, but don't you think it's too soon? I think either Rampage or Rashad would destroy Jones right now. In the future sometime, yes, but Jones is still moving up and proving himself.

I think that if Jones beats Vera, he should get the loser of Griffin/Lil' Nog. Except that their fight is a long time away, and as long as he's healthy, he needs more fights. So I don't really think this would work.

Sooo, I think the winner of this match should get Thiago Silva, like others were saying. He is in between Rampage/Rashad and Vera/Jones, so I think it's the perfect next step.

Yeah but Forrest and Nogueira are pretty much the same skill level as Rashad/Rampage. And we saw that Thiago at least had plenty of chances to beat Rashad.
