moaL
I know that nate didnt really do much in the fight but what he actually did manage to do in the fight was actually quite efficient and he could've stolen the fight easily especially towards the end. Thoughts?
MMA_Fanatic_89
Nate was totally outclassed in this fight. I'm glad he had to fight Sonnen before he got a title shot because everyone thought the Nate would be the one to end Silva's reign of terror. This fight showed that he isn't worthy. uaquin
Nate made a classic mistake of looking past an opponent. He obviously didn't work on a game plan to fight a pressure wrestler. You would think having guys like GSP andf Rashad to train with he would have been much better working from his back.

To be fair, Silva and Sonnen are two completely different fighters. Polar opposites. I'm not saying that Marquardt would beat Silva, but he'd certainly be more comfortable standing and striking with someone than he was last night when he spend 15 minutes on his back. Either way, he would never be as dominant a champion as Silva. If Sonnen could beat him up that badly, then think of what Hendo would have done if he got a title shot against him. moaL
The point I made is that the things that Nate actually managed to do in the fight were efficient and quite successful, knee's when Sonnen shot for the takedown, the elbow to the forehead, guillotine attempt and a couple of sweeps that he managed to pull off. And easily could've stolen the fight with anything, as Sonnen said he was knocked out when one of those knee's hit him and he was close to blacking out with the guillotine. Thoughts? How? he clearly lost the fight. What kind of efficiency is that? The task was to win the fight; you need to be efficient to achieve that overall goal. "could've stolen the fight". Well; no win, no money, no hall of fame, no belt, no sponsorship, etc. for "could have".

I think you need to sit down and rethink this statement.... I understand that you like Nate but he was dominated, in no way was he efficient or successful, if hewas those things he would have won the fight. If Belfort loses to Silva NO ONE at MW is going to beat anderson..... This division is weak

I know you don't understand what I said in the slightest, I said nate hardly did anything in the fight but the things that he did manage to successfully do could've made a huge impact on the end of the fight, the guillotine and he knocked him out with a knee momentarily, watch the post-fight interview he even says it. How? he clearly lost the fight. What kind of efficiency is that? The task was to win the fight; you need to be efficient to achieve that overall goal. "could've stolen the fight". I'm repeating the same things over and over and its getting boring becuase people just arent understanding my point, he could've stolen the fight at any point with the little that he did do and he did that successfully, that makes him efficient. Defence
impressive fight by Sonnen i agree with the guy that said Nate was looking at next fight and forgot about doing some research on this Sonnen, it just looked like that but also Sonnen was very strong, in most positions he moved nate in,nate wasn't able to move anywhere. but did he really hurt Nate? Nate looked tired ... but so was Sonnen + Sonnen was cut twice ( after 3 rounds) if this was on the streets then Sonnen could not recover from his wounds like he did in the cage, + i'm not sure if Sonnen would make 1 or 2 more rounds... the superbowl is beginning cya all later ! GO SAINTS ! we are all one !
