anchorman151406052170
Im a big Serra fan, but it kills me that he's fighting at WW. He'll never be a top WW, but he could be one of the greatest lightweights in the world. I'd love to see him fight Gray Maynard, and whoever wins gets BJ next. Serra would match up favorably against Maynard, and he would match up better then anybody else could vs. BJ Dana- PLEASE TELL SERRA TO LAY OFF THE PASTA..... slack_415
Serras in his late 30's . its hard to cut wieght. He likes his pasta and home-made wine! lol
Martino231
I actually agree with you. But I also agree with what Joe Rogan said yesterday about Serra being a big boned guy, so cutting weight could result in a big loss of power. I do think he could be a force at 155 though. He's one of a few guys who would be able to stand with BJ, and his BJJ would be able to neutralise a lot of the grappling talent in that division too. Ares9139
I sort of agree, whilst I think he fits well at WW in terms of power, his reach is going to be an issue. Imagine if he were to ever come up against someone like Rumble Johnson, he would get wrecked, he's just too small.

James_Moss
Looks like Serra has a dettached tenden in his right bicep. Looks wierd but I've seen this before in some injuries I've seen before not in the UFC but personally seen before. This is just an observation. Did anyone else notice? It didn't seem to bother him in the fight, but I noticed that his right bicep didn't look normal.
anchorman151406052170
Dude's 5'6...plus he fought his whole career at 155 until he went on TUF. Serra will never ever be a great WW. However, he could be a great LW. I say Serra vs. Maynard, and winner gets BJ next
Denominator
I wholeheartedly agree. Serra himself has stated that he should be fighting at 155 (He said it during his stint on the UF). I'm guessing he probably walks around at 175lbs., maybe 180 (He's only 5'6" guys). Heck, he didn't look like he had a loss of punching power in any of his fights. Why on earth is he's standup so underrated to begin with? He's rocked BJ Penn before, rocked Matt Hughes, rocked Karo Parisyan, and KO'ed the WW champ GSP. This guys got KO power, but he's ground game is soo sound that everyone overlooks it (Short of GSP now). I'm 100% positive that he'd beat Gray Maynard, especially if Gray is foolish enough to bang with him. I hope he goes to LW, so that we see someone with good hands and ground game against BJ. He almost beat BJ in the past.
Bret416
i agree that serra is a lw but come on face the facts he was champ and no matter how small he may be he is a force in the ww division. and if he fights rumble then he will just take him down and sub him just like kos

He didn't rock Hughes, it was a headbutt, watch the fight again. Karo is trash, and yes, he TKO's GSP. Hitting someone behind the ear can do that. Dude's 5'6...plus he fought his whole career at 155 until he went on TUF. Serra will never ever be a great WW. However' date=' he could be a great LW. I say Serra vs. Maynard, and winner gets BJ next[/quote'] Yes, his whole fight Pre TUF was at 155. As you get older you get bigger, and it is harder to cut large amounts of weight. Seems like this has been covered before. I don't think Serra would have the power in his hands at 155 we have seen at 170. ^ Serras in his late 30's . its hard to cut wieght. anchorman151406052170
Serra already was a top WW... remember when he KO'd GSP and won the title belt. If Serra fought GSP 100 times, he'd win 1 time. Plus when he fought GSP the first time he wasn't even a top WW then, and everybody knew it. He got the title shot because he won TUF(by squeeking out a win over Lytle) and not for any other reason, not because he was a "top WW" Again- Serra will never be a top WW, BUT he can definitely be a top LW

BUT, Serra can absolutely still make 155, and I'd say he can do it relatively easily. 170 is NOT the best weight class for him.
TigerChamp
sucks to be frank trigg. why does he always have to complain every time he gets knocked out and try to act as if there was anything even controversial about it sore loser if you ask me
Kristufa
I'm just going to copy and paste something I wrote yesterday: Errr I'm actually on Rogan's side on this one. He's not small, he's just short. Huge difference. He's extremely thick, and cutting to 155 would: A) Lose cardio due to the cut. Lose striking power due to less weight behind each shot. I think 170 is good for him.

Ask GSP. “Tonight I got beat by a better fighter than myself,” said the always gracious St-Pierre. “He beat me fair and square. I’m very sad right now, but I will come back.”
