Loser goes home ?

After watching UFC 109 and seeing Serra knock out Trigg and Swick lose his second in a row, I think Serra VS Swick would be a good match-up, loser going home.

Even though he got the KO, I didn't think Serra looked very good in his fight last night. He looked slow and awkward. Nothing like he did when he KOed GSP. If Serra loses to Swick, it shows that he can no longer compete in the UFC WW Division.

And with Swick losing his second in a row, its becoming apparent that he might not be able to compete with the top of the division. If he couldn't beat Serra. . well it might just be time for him to find a new org. I really like the guy. . but he has looked terrible in his last 2.

Thoughts ?

Okay, 2 things wrong with what you wrote.

1) You HAVE to look different when you're fighting GSP. GSP and Trigg aren't on the same level.

and

2) That strategy just looked like a shortened GSP fight. Wait for opening, connect with right hand, finish on ground. What's the difference?

So every fight from now on for Serra should be loser leaves town?

This basically applies to both of you. I know Serra got the finish, but knocking out Trigg isn't something that should UP you on the ladder in any way. Trigg doesn't even belong in the UFC. Serra is 7-6 in the UFC and he's getting up there in age and I don't find him getting any better with time. I think he should fight Swick or someone around the 8-10 position in the WW division and if he can't come out with the win, they should release him and make room for yournger real estate that actually have potential.

I guess it would be going a little far to get rid of Swick if he loses, but he really needs to get his stuff together and stop throwing those wide strikes with his chin wide out.

Swick next fight will probally be some unknown guy in the undercard just to make his record get better. After that he will be fighting the main cards again for a tittle shot, no doubt about that.

Serra is just... Serra.

Everybody loves the man. He will leave the UFC only when he wants to leave. Don't forget he been on a TUF and coached a TUF, plus he was the WW champion for a while.
