Sonnen: Eight Losses by Submission

Almost nine in the fight against Nate, he was really close to getting finished by that guillotine.

If Anderson Silva can submit a guy like Henderson, who had only been submitted twice, by both Nogueira brothers. I'm pretty sure he can submit Sonnen, who I think is less of a wrestler than Henderson, and has been submitted by Trevor Prangly, Forrest Griffin, Jeremy Horn (twice), Babalu, Paulo Filho, and Damien Maia.

I like Sonnen, but he's pretty ignorant/dumb for saying Silva is an easier match up than Belfort. He has a way better chance of taking down Belfort and getting the G&P win or decision than he does against Silva. And LOL at Belfort being better in the stand up than Silva. We'll see how that turns out. Everybody looks fantastic until they fight Silva, at which point they look like a jack ****.

What you fail to realise is just how much Sonnen has improved. Now don't get me wrong I think Silva will KO Sonnen with ease, and I am not one of these sudden Sonnen lovers but he is undoubtedlu a fantastic wrestler, and their is a small chance he could domintate Silva with his wrestling.

Lol it's so true though. Rich Franklin looked awesome against everyone he fought. I could not believe it when he fought Silva. He looked sooo bad. Silva got him in the Thai clinch and was just throwing him around the ring kneeing him over and over.

And I mean, come on, Forrest Griffin? He's not a horrible fighter, but you would have to think so if Silva vs. Griffin is the only fight you ever saw him in. Silva literally dodged Griffin's combinations like they were in slow motion before punching him in the face. Then finishes him with one punch with his hands down while he's walking backwards and Griffin is coming in with a flurry.

Silva is just on a different level.

I already stated this in another thread...

All his wins in the UFC are by decision and all his losses are by submission.

His style is very boring.

Agree, he hasn't finished anybody in the UFC. If Silva, one of the most spectacular and exciting fighters on the planet is replaced by this guy as champion, I hope I won't be the only one who is massively disappointed.

However I don't think that will happen. I think there's very little chance of him beating Silva. Everyone, including Dan Henderson said his style was the best to beat Silva. Silva may have been surprised in that first round, but he came out in the second round ready to pick Dan's style to pieces.

He was an NCAA All-American wrestler, two-time University National Champion in Greco Roman, and a US Olympic team alternate. Chael also works as a real estate agent. Sonnen is currently ranked as the #1 middleweight in the world by FIGHT! Magazine

Sonnen will be all over Silva like a rash. Silva has not faced that yet in the UFC. This would be a great fight.

Are we to believe Silva is incapable of losing? Will he go on for a decade as champion? I remember one day in the "predicatable" sport of boxing Mike Tyson at the peak of his invincibility was knocked out by a nobody named Buster Douglas in a second hand venue.
