In the first fight Sonnen was winnin the whole fight, but then just laid down in Filhos guard and got armbarred.

 

Then in the rematch Filho didnt do anything but flop to the ground and hope sonnen came into his guard, and all Sonnen could do is win a decision.

i guess this is some curse to my mind that a horrid fighter is now believed to be able to beat the best.

When I choose to like a fighter, it never fades... I mean, I like Spencer Fisher and Cro Cop a lot, but they hit a rocky place in their careers. I still consider them some of my favorite of all time fighters.

Bandwagon means that when a person wins one fight, you blindly become their fan without looking at their losses or total skillset.

 

If he beat Silva then he would deserve all this credit, but all this is premature.

So he beat Marquardt, and you think he's no good? Maybe you should take a second look at Marquardt... Sonnen's earned all the praise he's getting, while at the same time he's earned all the BS he's getting too.

To be fair, when a guy dominates two top 5 fighters in a row people will take notice.

 

And given Anderson's weakness has been proven to be wrestling, people are going to speculate. Especially given the fact that Nate was thought to have good wrestling, as well.

Difference between silva and nate though is silva is much better at getting off the ground ocne hes on it and all sonnen can hope to do is get another decision victory over silva, that leaves alot of potential chances for silva to ko or tko sonnen from the standup between those 5 ronuds. Also in the last round Sonnen had worn himself out. Nate still looked fresh and probably would have taken a victory in a 5 ronud matchup agaisnt sonnen. This will be a 5 ronud fight and i dotn think he can keep that pace up for 5 rounds.

Silvas standup is much better than nate and also hes alot more defensive i expect him to get taken down less due to his cautious attitude and get the ko through his superior standup.
