fitali
Maybe it's just me having too many glasses of wine but when Maia was fighting, his stance looked alot like Machida's. When his back was to the camera it was like watching Machida. Do they train together or something? I have not been able to rewatch 109, but wondering if anyone noticed. lilvash878
i slightly agree with u. i think the thing was he was doing the lil hip thrust thing machida does to feint a kick. and he was runnin backwards good. he looked like he was fencing to me, straight back and forward with more feints than actual strikes

MyTH_MMA
His footwork looks to be improved but for his actual striking to get better he needs to be stronger. He hit Miller with some pretty flush shots and Miller didn't seem dazed at all.

KRYME
I see what you're saying. With the feints and what not. But he doesn't train with Machida to my knowledge. I know he trained some with the Nog's and JDS. -buy the ticket. take the ride.

MyTH_MMA
Regardless not every person adapts their trainer/sparring partner's style. Maia trains with Wandy, but he doesn't throw from his hips.

Maia's striking base did look much better for sure.
