ThE_KiNg_Of_ThE_rInG
A VERY underrated card IMO!!! This has fireworks written all over it!! Even the prelims are interesting, you have the debuts of undefeated Daniel Roberts who is 9-0, 7 by submission. Also Julio Paulino, who is 17-2 with 10 wins by KO. The Main Card, has AWESOME FIGHTS!!!! Besides Irvin/Sakara, I think we wont see a single Decision. The main three for sure. Main Card: Light Heavyweight bout: Brandon Vera vs. Jon Jones Heavyweight bout: Junior dos Santos vs. Gabriel Gonzaga Heavyweight bout: Cheick Kongo vs. Paul Buentello Middleweight bout: Alessio Sakara vs. James Irvin Prelims Card: Lightweight bout: Clay Guida vs. Shannon Gugerty Light Heavyweight bout: Eliot Marshall vs. Vladimir Matyushenko Lightweight bout Duane Ludwig vs. Darren Elkins Welterweight bout: John Howard vs. Daniel Roberts Heavyweight bout: Brendan Schaub vs. Chase Gormley Welterweight bout: Mike Pierce vs. Julio Paulino Light Heavyweight bout: Eric Schafer vs. Jason Brilz For Vera/Jones, after watching the weigh-ins Jones looks to be a little aggressive....that might cost him dearly....Brandon Vera by KO. 2nd roundish maybe? The Battle of the Badda**es, JDS/Gonzaga.....I can tell you one thing, someone is getting KTFO and truth be told this fight could swing either way. I dont think Gabe is going to be able to submit JDS on the fact that he trains with Nog/Silva. JDS by KO. 2nd Round. Another Standup War, Kongo/Buentello. If Buentello chooses to stand with Kongo, it will be a short night. If PB watches 10 mins of Kongo footage he will note: Kongo cant really wrestle, if he follows that note, he may get a Victory. Kongo 1st Round maybe second TKO. BTW Kongo is P*SSED about his last performance!!! Irwin/Sakara, this is one of the only fights on the card that I think might suck. The Sandman has almost 2 years of ring rust and injury after injury. This greatly affects fighters. Sakara is going into this fight with back to back wins, Note: he hasnt had back to back wins in almost 5 years. If Sakara is down to break tradition, and get his first turkey wins(3) in over 6 years, he has a perfect opponent to do so in a Ring Rust Irvin. Sakara by ??? SplitD?? As for the Prelims, Guida, Vlady, Elkins, Roberts, Gormley, Paulino, and Brilz. What are your thoughts??!!! Does anyone know if UFC will air the prelims on the site?? Or where to watch them?? Keep your eyes peeled for Daniel Roberts and Julio Paulino!! Good additions to the UFC.

I was backing Jones until the weigh-ins. The **** that was with Jones switched me over to wanting to see Vera knocked the hell out of Jones. Standing there and what seemed to look as if he was trying to s*** talk Vera, when the guy is only good enough to hold the shorts of Jones. It even looked as though Vera was trying to tell Jones that there wasn't anything to be aggressive about. Whatever. I like the positive respectful Jones better, but now IF he manages to get knocked out I'll enjoy it more than I would have.

whoknows123
first off did you guys watch the countdown to ufc on versus vera was totally talking **** about jones and making fun of him and jones was totally cool.i guaranteed jones took that quote personal that vera said laughing "Jon Jones the next coming of jesus christ" That would piss me off if i was jones, enough to want to rip his head off to. Anyways you cant judge how the fight is going to go after that give me a break, Jones will win by K.O or ground and pound, dos santos for sure way quicker with knockout power he will get their first, kongo ground and pound, irvin looked like a holocaust victum, sakara TKO
saintbodhisatva
Im surprised people are picking Vera in this forum, while most other forums just flat out want Vera to be KO'd by Jones. Jones was actually somewhat of a jerk too in the weigh-ins with Bonnar. So it may not just be due to what Vera said in the countdown to versus. alex0021
Alright this is to everyone who thinks bones was being a punk at the weigh-ins. jon said that when vera made that comment, "jon jones, the second coming of jesus christ. (laughs)" that it really got under his skin. so he was probly just sending vera a pre fight message saying that hes gonna bring the heat. and the dude screaming wasnt his friend, it was his brother who will probly be going in to the NFL next year. JHenry
First of all let me say that Vera vs Jones will be considered for fight of the year. Its pitting two all around good fighters who both have a strong suit. Jones wrestling is sick and he will win on the ground, but Vera has devastating stand up. However Jones also has good standup and Vera has good ground game so its going to be very very interesting. I can see at least 2 and more than likely 3 highlight reel KOs on the rest of the card
illegalpoke
Weigh-ins did not show the Jones I knew. You'd think he would have shown more respect toward Brandon Freaking Vera. Bones may have seen the Truth through all the hype just then. Brandon Vera. By "a reason". I hope he doesn't though but I've seen how these things work. xayekim
i think Jones is a bit over rated - Vera - Round 1 Surprise KO, Jones comes in way to excited and Vera either head kicks or counter punches after weathering an early storm I think Jones is going to come in unorthodox and try to throw off Vera but Vera will either drop to BJJ or surprise with a counter.... Vera spent most of his camp in Big Bear - they are fighting in CO - altitude is an issue JDS - TKO round 1 - I think its going to be war The rest of the fights - eh.. Guida will be exciting as usual and probably lose a decision. I think Kongo is done in the UFC if he loses this its probably guaranteed - I think Buentelllo will get the surprise win
