Matts4567
I was thinking, there arent many fighters in the UFC or in the whole of MMA who are actually world class in both areas.......... I can only really think of BJ Penn, Anderson Silva, Fedor and Maybe Nick Diaz...Any other suggestions and reasons why..

MyTH_MMA
Has GSP got a world class stand up game? If you're conceding the fact that the OP had BJ in the category, then yes I would say GSP has pretty darn good stand-up..

Matts4567
i agree GSP doesnt hav world class stand-up..dont get me wrong its very good but not world class, BJ Penn Has the best boxing in MMA according to Freddie Roach so i wud consider it world class. Silva does hav a world class BJJ game he is that good on stand up that he rarely gets to show it.Shogun is debatable but is very well equipt in both area's. Hendo has very good stand up and very good wrestling too.

Another one very well could be Frank Mir he has the best ground game in the history of the UFC (Fact most subs in ufc HW history) plus if you look at his stoppage of Nog or how he put Kongo on his **** his striking is right up there with the best
silentson
The only person who I would say is world class in both areas in Bj. His bjj and boxing are both world class. Anderson has a good ground game but I wouldn't say world class , Gsp has excellent stand up (when he uses it) but I wouldn't say it is world class either. The reason he gets away with his sloppy haymakers is that he has a great chin, so he can afford to wade in swinging.
MMA_Spawn
Thiago alves! Paul Daley! HaHaHa...you can't be serious. ZenWarrior1406052210
Minotauro Nogueira: standup fighting is fairly decent but I wouldn't say good. Nogueira therefore isn't well rounded in all areas. He should stick to what he is good at, jujitsu, period. Otherwise, he will continue to get KTFO, and his legendary fighter status will be limited to his career in Pride FC.
britah
What about Gonzaga? He has one of the best BJJ in the world and he knocked out Cro Cop and rocked Carwin who are known for being 2 of the best strikers in the division IMO his striking is quite good. Also Brandon Vera has a great stand up and a great ground game.
ZenWarrior1406052210
Gonzaga i would agree is all around, KOing Crocop and rocking Carwin definitely gives him good striking. Jr Dos Santos wasn't able to KO Crocop, so Gonzage could possibly upset JDS tonight. Vera has good but not excellent striking, but if he wins tonite in striking and overwhelming fashion, then he might have exellent striking, and have an all around game.
