Me? Personaly yes, the same friend that ridicule me for watching the UFC they say its just abunch of guys hugging eachother and they wonder where i get my wrestling holds from...

I was wrestling with my cousin who i frequiently wrestle with, and i got him in the same hold that Brock Lestard got Mir in (minus the 09345834 face punches) and hes like "omg thats the most brutal hold i've ever seen, that would suck to be caught in" and like a man, i pretended that i came up with it myself... lol

When the action isnt amazing i look and pay really good attention to what they are doing i figure if im going to learn from someone why not the best in the world? it has also been really benefitial to my bjj classes where i have pulled something they would have concidered unorthadox and won a match or something... what about you all, i know im not the only one

Well when me and my friend first signed up for BJJ classes, we learned 2 types of armbars on that day [we already knew about guards and all that because of UFC]. First time we rolled I caught him in a gogoplata [Day before I saw the youtube video of Nick Diaz doing it]. It was cool that first day but now I can never catch anyone in it.

Yes, actually, and it does wonders if you're willing to learn and apply. I have virtually no good MMA gyms/schools around, so horseplay, sparring, and watching MMA is my only "experience". Just last week my brother (He's like 6"4, I'm maybe 5'9, though we both weigh around the same, me 140, him about 170) was talkin all this crap saying how he'd kill me in a spar, but I ended up whooping him, and all the rest of the day, he went around telling everyone how he underestimated me and how good I was (though he was drunk when he was telling everyone, that's why he said the story a million times).

I also regularly spar one of my friends who is also around 6'4, but like 215 lbs or so, and I can outmanuever him with my wrestling and jiu-jitsu. Though if we both gas, (we just go untill someone taps, and one spar we went for about an hour) he usually is able to just win on strength.
