Id love to see it but not just now, Bones not ready despite this victory. In fact come to think, can any-one be ready for Anderson????
VinceBlack
Why destroy Jones Rise or Silva's reign? It would be a great fight but the UFC would be smart to keep these two apart, at least at this stage of the game. They draw big money on reputation why tarnish either of them? Thinking from a business standpoint only.
uaquin
Won't happen. No way the UFC takes the risk of tarnishing the current golden boy of the LHW division. That and the kid is only 22. He has a huge future ahead of him. In 2 years or so I could see it. SIlva would be 36 though and probably retired by then.

I cant see that personally, chuck ruled LHW at this age and silva is arguably better than him
Michigan_Jay
Not gonna happen. These are 2 different tier fighters. Jones is a riddle, but Silva has answers. Silva will be past his prime before Bones is ready.
vitorftw
arguably? lol... bones wouldnt go more than 1 min in that fight he has less experience by far and even less skills.

He has I think 2 fights left on his current UFC deal. tkoehler10
Jones is a great fighter, but is no where near ready to step into the ring with the spider. Thiago Silva would be a better match for him...
Jae416
no way should he fight anderson silva he doesnt deserve to.. when i first read the title of this thread i was actually excited about the topic because i thought you meant jon jones vs thiago silva.. because that would be a really good fight for both fighters..both like to stand up, probably wouldnt go to the corners of the cage like the evans vs silva bout.. jon jones vs thiago silva would be an excellent fight. PunchBag
would have rather seen him fight thiago silva, anderson would be to much for jones currently. But i think with enough expeience jones has a good shot at getting that lhw title.
PunchBag
think if thiago and jones wnet at it, jones would employ the same strategy he used agaisnt vera. Take him to the mat and pound him. Nobody wants to mess with thiagos power in the standup unless you anderson silva or machida
Hurzy
A. Silva vs. J. Jones...hes not there yet, and given the questions surrounding Silva's future, Im not sure that we will ever see that one. BUT, Ive never seen anyone blow through Vera like that. Vera is a quality opponent for anyone, and J. Jones made good work of him in 1 round. Veras GnP(especially those elbows) as shown in the Hamill and most recently Vera fights are among the most vicious that Ive ever seen. Who is next for him? Id say give him a top 5 or 6 ranked LHW. Or(and I know that the UFC wont do this), but put him up against Bader. Both Jones and Bader faced tougher compitition in their last 2 fights and both won in good fashion(Jones getting the number 1 spot). So whos next for Mr. Jones?
