alliedwarior
If someone who was 3-3 won the belt would he be the number 1 ranked fighter in that weight? Even if the 3 loses were to top competition it would be a joke right? because thats basically the logic for Brock being number 1 and Mir number 2, they held the belt.... who cares there records are a joke. Records really don't mean ****. If someone went 0-6 to start their career in the UFC, and then dominated 6 straight fights on his way to a title fight, would his record really matter? the_bear413
I dont see how Brock even landed a title shot with not even 5 fights on his belt..thats a bunch of crap!!! It was at a time when the HW division was weak talent-wise. Plus there was a huge fan base in the WWE that Dana wanted to attract and Brock Lesnar was the man to bring them over. Financially, it made sense to give Lesnar a title shot.

TheGreenGoblin
Well once he loses the title to a far more deserving title holder we won't have to worry about it any longer.....how long could that take right?...right??......*tumbleweed rolls by*
alliedwarior
Why do you care so much what people think of Brock? Calm down. Because I like MMA but its becoming a joke, its turning into WWE were people are getting tangled up in the person himself and the hype around the fight then the hype it self. It makes me sick that real fighters like JDS Carwin and even Cain are getting big finishes and people still think Brocks better because he is big... thats all he is big no other reason hes just big and has a belt on. There's been so much speculation about Brock that I just want him to start fighting ASAP just so the community can see who was right and who was wrong. It'll stop the 3+ Brock Hate/Love threads every day at least.

You're defending illiteracy and that's just awful, it's never ok to demonstrate ignorance and not do your best. You will not earn respect from anything you do in life with that attitude. I just personally have never been a huge fan of the "pay your dues" mentality......that's not to say that with all else being equal it shouldn't play a significant part in who gets a title shot...but as has been pointed out earlier in this thread...the division was at a weak point when Brock got the shot...the fact that he won the title tells me he was "ready" for the shot....whether he was "deserving" draws on far too much subjectivity for my liking.... ...oh and War GSP....just so I feel like i belong

People will respect you more, even on UFC website, if you make strong arguments and use grammar properly. It's just something to think about, but your ability to converse and write will affect your life in many ways.
