Was Irvin Too Relaxed?

Being relaxed in the cage can be a good thing but he just looked like he had no energy. He wasn't moving very much and Sakara was clocking him at will. Do you think he was maybe feeling the weight cut? Personally I can't believe he cut to 185 that is definitely not his natural weight. I'd like to see him stay at 205.

Also..."I can't open my ****ing eye...I CAN'T OPEN MY ****ING EYE" LOL

IMO Irvin just doesnt have what it takes to become a top 10 fighter in either 205 or 185... But sizewise, he has a better chance to be competitive in 185 rather than 205. He is in my opinion just not a good enough fighter to stand and trade with the top fighters in the UFC. has a very limited bag of tricks and in other matches i have watched him fight he usually gasses pretty fast. But we all know not everybody can be a superstar, every orginisation needs a few middle to low level fighters as well.

The weight cut did him in IMO. You look at Irvin at 205 and he had not an ouch of fat on him. 185 was just ugly.

Yeah pretty gross. He was so cut up at 185.

I think he can improve though. I don't know why but I feel like he has potential with his mindset and attitude. With good coaching and some serious revamping I think he could really be a contender. He needs to stop always looking for that one punch knockout and let it come naturally.

Yeah, Irvin looked really sluggish in his fight. Really did not look like himself. Although it seems that the A. Silva fight may have done him in mentally. Somebody posted an article last week some time that had an interview with Irvin and his confidence sounds to be very low. If his attitude was the same going into this fight (with Sakura) as it was when he had that interview it is no wonder he looked the way he did. Until he get back to at least close to 100% mentally he should stay out of the fight game until he does get it back mentally.

When I found out he was cutting to 185 and fighting in Colorado, I knew there was no chance in him winning the fight unless he caught Sakara wicked early. Too bad for Irvin. The cut definatley killed him more though. After he weighed in he immediatley downed a liter of Electrolytes and Hydrants. He was hurting for sure. Good thing Dana said he wouldnt give Irvin another fight at 185.
