I was just reading on mmajunkie that Dana White has said the hype surrounding Jones is warranted but a title shot is more than a year away so guys- Who will he fight in the mean time and will he stay undefeated and obviously White has the title shots pannedout so who do you reckon will get the next few shots at the gold

This could be a very exciting year in terms of LHW championship fights. The Machida-Shogun fight will probably tell us who will get the next title shot because I really think that if Shogun wins A. Silva will fight him but if Machida wins, I honestly have no clue as to who he will fight. He has already destroyed Thiago and Rashad, Rampage is fighting Rashad next, Jones' title shot is a little further down the road, and I don't think that Couture should get a shot quite yet.

It will be very interesting to see who Machida fights next if he happens to win.

I agree with Dana saying he is about a year away from a title shot and that is only if he continues to win the way he has. Vera was a huge step up and I'm still a little shocked on how he destroyed my boy Brandon. Jones should fight the loser of the Griffin vs Lil Nog fight and if he wins that fight...maybe he should fight the winner of the Rampage vs Evans fight...then he should be title shot certified.

Yeah definately more fights available for Rua, also out of the picture would be little Nog if Machida holds on to it.

I think if Rampage wins against Rashad, a chance to get the title back might get his head back in the game, I would love to see Rampage vs Machida too.

I also have a feeling that Randy isnt going to have the hardest road to a title shot if he keeps winning.

I would love to see Rampage vs. Machida but for some reason I have to agree that Randy's road to the title wouldn't be very long at all.

I agree' date=' kinda like a Brock deal.

Jones looks a hell of alot better than Brock did when he first fought in the ufc.[/quote']

The difference is the age tho, I think its in Jones best interest to wait, Brock is already what 32-33, Jones is 22, he needs more experience, imagine if he lost the title for a silly mistake like in the Hammil fight.

He is going to lose in his next two fights. Im eating my words about the Vera fight, thought Vera was gonna do it, but I was waaay off. Jones is going to fight someone who will be ready for what he has and knock him off this little streak he has.

Interesting. I think jones is capable now, but the time to mature is probably needed. The guy will be around, busting people up for a long time.

I think Couture is closer to a title shot than most people think. With his history, and only being in big fights, his whole career I could see it happening within his next couple of fights. And I think he has the tools to beat Machida, and possibly Rua. He's a life-long underdog and always game plans extremely well.

War Couture!!!

Bones will smash everyone short of Nogueira' date=' Shogun, Machida and Rampage[/quote']

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I can't even remember seeing the guy get hit. I'd like to see him fight an athletic guy like Rashad (which I know won't happen, as they are from the same camp), or a guy like Phil Davis who would cancel out his wrestling. I'd like to see him fight a guy with good TDD and heavy hands (maybe Chuck?).

i can see a bones vs jardine fight happening, sicne both of them are a little unorthodox in thier striking. But i think jardine would yet again get mauled :(

he should fight the looser of rashad and rampage in my opinion and then after that, possibly shogun or machida depending on who looses :)
