So my ticket for 111 looks like this.

Im getting decent odds and i know its gonna be a tough one but i think it does have some potential with a bit of luck:D I'm Euro so im not really that familiar with the American odds system but the number after the fight is the odds im getting and my picks in dark.

My wager is about 10$ and if it stands i get 2800$.

Constructive criticism is appreciated.

Jim Miller - Mark Bocek 3.95

Jon Fitch - Thiago Alves 1.75

Frank Mir- Shane Carwin 1.73

Ricardo Almeida - Matt Brown 1.60

Ben Saunders - Jake Ellenberger 2.30

Georges St. Pierre - Dan Hardy 5.10

Yeah, but if you are going to bet on the fight, its probably where I would put a small wager. I think you currently need to bet like $800.00 on GSP to make $100.00. Where as $100 would get you $500 if Hardy pulls the upset.

If you win this bet, I'll buy you a trip to Europe and pay you 30 days Sheraton hotel all-inclusive in Venice, take you partying 2 weeks in Amsterdam, I'll introduce you to CroCop, drive you to Russia to meet Fedor and have a glass of Vodka with him and take you cruising around the Mediterrenian. Did I mention you can also bring your frineds?

Yeah GSP is like 1.13(1$=1.13$) so its pretty much hardy or nothing.

yep, the only reason i would go with hardy is for the odds....i think i'm just gonna do a parlay.

As a fellow gambler - and one who has a pretty decent record on MMA - I would honestly say this is a completely ridiculous bet to make. Obviously you aren't risking a whole lot but I am going to just lay down some basic tips for you which have everything to do with odds and minimal to do with fights. Two rules' date=' one about [u']reach[/u] bets and one about safe bets. The rest I call chance and I'll let you figure those out, that's why they call it gambling right?

1. REACH BETS - When there is as big of an upset as Hardy vs St Pierre, NEVER, repeat NEVER parlay that, if you must parlay it do it with one other fight MAX! My bookie's odds have Hardy as a +500 underdog. With five times a payout coming, if (and that's a big if) Hardy lands that lucky punch why would you want to lose your bet and not collect five times what you put down because of what happened in the previous fights? That is either inexperienced or greedy betting, either way just plain foolish in my opinion. I would highly suggest if you want to put a wager down on Hardy do it in a straight line, not a parlay. The same goes for all reach bets.

2. SAFE BETS - Have a safety bet in place. Obviously you aren't risking a whole lot of money, but if you take step one to heart and do put a straight bet on Hardy (a reach bet), you will by default have more money in play. As a result, put a wager down which will allow you to make back what money you will most likely lose on the Hardy fight (I would suggest putting money on Miller as a safety but hey I see you have him losing and I just think the only way that happens is via injury, different story altogether though). These bets will force you to put more in play since it will be on a big favorite, but they are ones that you should rarely lose.

I operate on three kinds of bets - reach, safety and gambling - and have thus far seen good success. I figure for every reach bet that wins a safety will lose (thanks Bowles!), thus why I feel that is a good system to play. For my third category I make educated predictions on who I feel will win and typically only bet on ones that I'm pretty certain on. Sometimes if it's been a good week (I also bet on hockey) I'll toss a bit extra out but I am not afraid to call an upset, even if it's a small one, and put money in play.

Also, one thing that is very very very important: pay attention to weigh ins. I had a bet on Irvin prior to weigh ins and immediately canceled it after seeing how dehydrated he was. Things like this do play factors in fights, and even though fatigue didn't end the fight at all I saved myself $30 in the process by canceling that wager.

Sorry this is long but hope it helps a bit! I'll post my bets for 111 in another post if requested in this thread.

Good luck to you regardless of what method you choose and remember though this is real money, it's all about fun!

WoW man thx for the reply. Obv im not taking this one that seriously and im no high roller or a very experienced gambler, it just makes it even more (if possible) fun to watch!

Ive done couple mma bets and usually i wait till weighins but i just saw the odds and was like what the hell, see what happens and for the record i actually do have a little faith in Hardy pulling it off.

Feel free to post your bets and good luck too u as well!

Wow very interesting post. I am not a gambler but that sure makes a lot of sense how you do it.

Thanks man. I've never taken any help from a pro gambler or anything I just kind of came up with that on my own. Seems to be working out alright for me so far.

Right now for 111 I have:

$20 parlay on Saunders and Alves winning

$50 on Miller

$20 on Brown

$30 on Carwin

I might be putting something on Drwal as a reach but I haven't decided on that one yet. I'll also be curious to see what the odds for Diaz vs Markham are since they haven't released those yet. Should be exciting though, this is the most money I've had at risk on a single event.

Definitely man, don't see hardy winning, but for those who bet him, they'll be taking home a nice little fortune if he shocks the world. Don't think betting GSP in this fight would be the best of ideas (odds are terrible), not that he's gonna lose just cuz i'd hate to waste that kinda money on a sure thing if Dan gets lucky.:D
