Im down wit FightMagazines rankings... I mean MW, Chael Sonnen is clearly a more accomplished fighter than Anderson Silva is after that five round decision over Nate Marquardt right... hahaha jk jk their rankings are pretty messed up!

Pretty hard to find a decent site with legit listings. They always have some randoms slipping into the top ten that have you asking yourself wtf! Example - Forrest Griffin, at no time has he ever deserved a spot in the top ten yet im sure you can still find sites that list him there. Winning a title doesn't automatically give you p4p status!

Well this seems to be a pretty hot topic. So it really is just a bunch a suits sitting around with thier own perceptions, no qauntifiable data gone over before awarding a deserving person a title shot huh.UFC needs more revamping for more clear rankings we can all see direct from the UFC, F what other sites think like the one guy's comment about someone being higher ranked than Anderson on one site.(WHATEVER!!!)

Who believes UFC decision makers should only consider showning the records of fighters results within the UFC itself alone. How many times have we seen a 24-9 fighter take on a 7-1 fighter just to watch the guy who you think has more experience get his you know what handed to him, research those 24 wins and it seems he smacked his sisters around for a few years before getting a shot in the UFC. The counting of fights outside the UFC is like letting me count my 1st grade spelling bee results to get a portion of credit in a college class in my opinion, you didn't earn those W's in the fashion we see guys earning them in the Octagon. Would make me feel better about buying UFC fights where gold isn't up for grabs, half the time those main event fights without gold are just gimics to get people to buy PPV, either using bad blood between them ploy, or saying they need to overcome one another to get a shot at a title everytime, show me where they are now in official ranking, and where a win would put them in the title show picture to get me involved, but for now I just buy title fight nights

you'll find hundreds of rankings looking through these threads haha

Tell me about it, I hate not having official rankings to look at on UFC, wish they would at least rank thier own payroll. Does boxing get that in depth with a official ranking of fighters for fans to keep up with? I remember when I was younger watching fights(boxing) with my dad they placed alot of emphasis around talking about the number one contender and what not by the commentators.

I think Dana does, becuase I understand Maia is a decent fighter but in no way shape or form should he be slated to get in there with Silva. You see them give guys a easier fighter once they lose a few in a row like clay guida, but where is the logic in giving Maia a title shot, if there isn't a true challenger right now for the belt, don't send a guy who I gather most think is like 5th in lineup in that class to get destroyed just becuase you think it's time to challenge to current champion. You learn from your defeats but getting "molested" as Joe Rogan put it the other night, isn't advisable. I feel it is Dana's job to get his champion's @$$ beat, by giving him only challengers who could beat them. Dan Hardy does stand a chance, Shogun does, but not Maia.
