Jon Jones vs. Ryan Bader for UFC 115!

Both with really similar records, both young and upcoming fighters, both great wrestlers and strikers (amazing well rounded newcomers), and both really strong. This would be a great match for the (weak) UFC 115 fight card! I don't think either is ready for machida yet! They would match up well against each other!

I think bader is good but i think Jones is a little bit higher up and needs to get in the mix with some more elite fighters like, Thiago Silva, Lil Nog, maybe loser of rampage/rashad, Forrest i just think hes ready for the next level.

Not too count out Bader just think Jones is a little above him in the pecking order.

jones hasn't fought someone as well rounded as bader. Hamill was just a wrestler who never fought a good mma wrestler (until jones). Bader could stand up and wrestle. Bader was a three-time PAC 10 Champion and two-time D-1 All-American. If you disagree with jones fighting bader, perhaps he should fight... wanderlei silva!!??!! I would love to see that! Silva doesn't back down.. he's a black belt in jiu jitsu, but you don't see that much. The dude loves to stand up and brawl! Maybe jones could fight liddell! Liddell has long reach and doesn't stay on the ground if taken down.

hahaha.. i didn't expect that last sentence in your reply. I almost choked on my drink. That's some funny sh**. I like anderson silva, but they are giving him a lot of bad match-ups (ex. cote, maia, leites, irvin). Frank Mir is just average. He'll never beat lesnar again! Cain Velasquez is, in my opinion, the next big thing in the heavy weight division. I could see him putting up a good fight for lesnar... but velasquez has to gain lean weight (without losing speed) to fight someone like lesnar!

This would be an o.k. match, but I wouldn't want to see it. Think about this, Bader had trouble with Jardine. Brandon vera had trouble with Jardine,Vera lost a decision. Vera didn't make it past three minutes in the first round with Jones. Jardine would pose no challenge to Jones. This fight would be a little closer than the Matt Hamil fight.

yeah but the one thing I have learned is that you preety much have to put fights with jardine in a different catagory. The dude has the weirdest style, he put up a good fight against rampage and has defeated liddel and vera. And he has been knocked out so many times. But to be honest I thought hamil was higher up on the foodchain then vera, but it was a main event match so it wasnt a step back for jones. I think bader would be a good match for Jones, neither have been tested both are good wrestlers, bader has heavy hands but jones has long reach and weird strikes.Actually who do you think is a better wrestler between the two, I think they are both really good. bader has a brick chin too and we havent really seen jones get hit yet so who knows. Exciting match for mine

i thing jones should fight Thiago silva, silva's only lost to a champion and former champ a win against him would place him right up there in the mix plus silva loves to bang and jones has some awesome unorthodox strikes make it happen ufc i think this a fight people would be excited to see, baders not a big enough name to bring in the veiwers.

PS i cant wait to see Paul Daley ko josh koscheck

Koscheck is going to punish Paul "Gold TEEFEYS", Daley...

Is he **** mate, cant deny Daley's KO power but Josh is not going to let him bully him like he did his previous opponents. Plus Josh has KO power of his own and in general is a much more well rounded and accomplished fighter with a wealth of experience:) Kos ftw.

I'm not interested in this fight at all. I said early in some of the early posts after Jones smashed Vera that Bader won't be much more then the Hamil fight and I don't want to see that. I'll watch it and be interested but i'd be shocked if Bader made it out of the first round conscious. I don't think Vera's a joke and Jones made him look that way. He needs to face a DOMINANT wrestler not just someone who is a wrestler. Couture or Rampage end of story. Top strikers (Machida, Shogun) will pose problems as well. Not sure enough about little Nog yet. Griffen will loose having no advantage in reach against Jones. Silva will be taken down and finished on the ground. I just really think Bader would be a quick quick one round and done fight for the Jones W!

i agree ^ this is a miss match jones is in a diffrent league to bader at the moment he should be looking a little higher imo.

of course you disagree with this match up. you put paul daley as #4 on your top 10 fighters list... liddell on #8 (but shogun not even on the list), dan hardy as #10 (but st.pierre also not on the list), terry etim?!?! who the f is he?? oh yea.. i remember.. he's the guy that couldn't beat rich clementi. Where's bj penn, st.pierre, shogun, lesnar, fedor?? Your top 10 fighters list is garbage. You really don't know much about mma. I'm surprised you don't have ray mysterio jr. on your list!

worst matchup ever.. why wud the ufc pitt 2 upncomers against eachother? talk about a fail thread.....

hmmm... didn't they put machida and thiago silva against each other.. both undefeated at the time with similar records?!! wow.. talk about someone who doesn't know about mma

it doesn't always work that way. Example: Liddell beat wanderlei.. wanderlei killed jardine... jardine killed liddell! How long have you been watching the ufc

Bader is having surgery on his knuckle doesn't sound major so he could be right by 116 but they dont really know how long he'll be out. Took em long enough to find out about the injury if they found it sooner he could already be recuperating

"Found out today I have to have surgery on my right knuckle to repair a torn tendon that split in half from Jardine fight this thur," Bader wrote on his Twitter page

If the wiki of ufc 116 is right it looks like the ufc is pushin bader more then jones... it would b bad buisness if they put bader and jones against each other.. they are both still tryin to establish themselves as big time ufc names.. they each should get at least a top 10 opponent and the only time they should face each other is if it were for the number 1 contender or a title fight
