IDK if its been posted already but here it is.

A source close to the event confirmed the failed test and told MMAjunkie.com that a preliminary-card fight between New Jersey-based fighter Kurt Pellegrino and Fabricio Camoes will take the open spot on the PPV card.

The source said Alves' failed test came too late and that a replacement couldn't be found in such short time for Fitch, who will be shifted to a later card.

I really wanted to see this fight, I thought Fitch was going to be able to pull out the upset but I guess we'll have to wait a couple more PPV's.

So Saunders v Fitch not happening?

Cos they are so many reports sayin its going ahead

even Dana white meant to have said Its a No1 contenders match

TMZ reports that Dana White has stated that if Saunders defeats Fitch, he'll get a title shot

Just hours after news broke that Thiago Alves had to pull out of his UFC 111 main card fight with Jon Fitch due to a failed CT scan, multiple sources are now reporting that Fitch will instead fight Ben Saunders on the main card. Saunders already had a main card fight against Jake Ellenberger, but he was apparently eager to fight Fitch. Ellenberger will reportedly be paid his show-money plus a win bonus and will simply be removed from the card.

MMA Junkie had the initial report:

Multiple sources today confirmed with MMAjunkie.com (http://www.mmajunkie.com) the change to Saturday's card, which takes place at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

A source told MMAjunkie.com said Saunders specifically asked for the new bout when Fitch became available.

Ellenberger has been promised his "show" and "win" money to make up for the UFC's last-minute switch, we're told.

An official announcement is expected any time now from the UFC.

Fitch and Saunders hinted at the fight on their respective Twitter acounts soon after that news broke.

The revised UFC 111 card now includes:

Georges St. Pierre vs. Dan Hardy

Frank Mir vs. Shane Carwin

Jon Fitch vs. Ben Saunders

Kurt Pellegrino vs. Fabricio Camoes

Jim Miller vs. Mark Bocek

On Spike:

Ricardo Almeida vs. Matt Brown

Nate Diaz vs. Rory Markham

Prelims:

Rousimar Palhares vs. Tomasz Drwal

Jarred Hamman vs. Rodney Wallace

Matthew Riddle vs. Greg Soto

fitch is going to dominate saunders, might actually get a KO.

Fitch may not be that exciting, but he has one of the best UFC records out there..he deserves another shot at GSP soon, assuming St. Pierre gets past Hardy

but i hope hardy pulls it off

Its possible no fight will happen from what I read on yahoo. Apparently Alves had some blood in the brain or something. It could end his career.

I sustained a pretty horrific head injury when I was a kid and I can vouch for blood on the brain being no ****ing joke. Hopefully it's just bruising or something like that. I lucked out that way.

from speaking with diego today if alves is passed fit to fight @112 or 113 diego sanchez is a high possibilty to be his opponent, they will pull diego from the 114 card fight with hathaway, diego has said he would fight him as long as they get the clearence for alves to fight with in 2 weeks so it give diego a chance to prepare, its most likely to be @ufc 113 not 112

I see what you are saying but UFC 113 already has 10-13 confirmed fights. Be hard to throw it on there. Though I also agree a fight at 112 being next month would also be hard to prepare for.

edit: If it did happen at 113 it would really make me want to stalk someone with tickets or Dana better be twittering some F'ing tickets the section I was going to get tickets in sold out before it went public.

Kawa did say there was no bleeding of the brain. Additionally, he said that Alves did not appear to be in immediate danger and that the finding did not appear to indicate any serious medical concern. Kawa indicated that the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board was understandably erring on the side of caution and that there just wasn't enough time for Alves to be cleared by the necessary specialists in time for UFC 111.

Apparently Alves is fine and wants to fight early as UFC 112. Mabye he'll take on Jake Ellenberger, I also like that idea of him facing Diego Sanchez. That fight was a long time coming and I'll be rooting for Sanchez.
