TheTerribleWilliamson
I guarantee it will not be a peaceful event...Vancouver is a chill place in a lot of aspects but it has a prolific and violent gang element and this event is going draw them from all over the lower mainland into one place...throw in copious amounts of alcohol, Tap Out shirts and and a 3 hour orgy of violence and I promise you, there will be blood. Mark my words. Write it down.
brewster
This event will have a large police presence there is no doubt. However, if this is the last event for Vancouver it will be because of the Province and Vancouver City Council and the fact that the Province would not provide the city with indemnity
Hames
Have you been to vancouver????? After canucks win the cup, vancouverites will be the happiest people in the world. No rioting. but if the canucks dont win the cup. look out. Not too mention the amount of security and vanouver city police (who are the meanist sobs in canada) that will be present. MayorMccheez
Anytime you mix beer and MMA together you are always going to get the idiots who can't handle there buzz and want to fight each other. I bet it happens quite often, especially outside of the arena. I know it happens quite a bit at football games so I doubt there would be much a difference at an MMA event. Though I cannot say for sure.
Martino231
You don't think the UFC has been to cities in the past with violent gang communities? I'm sure the Vancouver Police Force will take whatever precautions necessary in order to ensure that there are minimal casualties.

I worked law enforcement out there for a couple years, and yes there is gang activity, etc... but the UFC has definately been to worse places. Montr?al is pretty violent in it's own right, and it seems to go fine there.
TigerChamp
if the first shogun/machida fight came here, it would have surely caused another riot. the judges would need a swat team escort just to get out of the building, because that kind of **** just wouldnt fly around here. but i dont think it will be that much to worry about, unless the fans get bored. its not the best looking card on paper, most definitely, but if all the fights go to the ground and drag out decisions, alot of drunken fight fans who expected to see some fights will start throwing down, the way they did in philly

trymeonforsais
Oh yeah, tons of violence in Vancouver. Don't worry, the giant Marijuana smoke cloud that resides over the city(nope thats actually not smog) helps keep the population calm. Though if the city runs out of munchies head for the hills! SwiftSpear
its gonna be 1994 all over again. Don't get me wrong, we Vancouverites love our fights... But it's hard to compare chuck losing to the nucks losing after we followed and worshiped them the whole season. I think it will go down without any incident.
