ImTheBest
I'm predicting that hes going to be trying to grab a hold of shoguns brutal leg kicks, and trying to put him on his back for some ground and pound, he doesnt even have to do anything imo he just has to let Shogun know he'll be on his back if he wants to throw any kicks... what do you all think? Sizzerb
I'm not trying to offend you or anything but If you trained you'd know it's not that easy. To catch a kick you have to lower your guard and put your hands down. Machida definetly will feel the body kicks so he may lower his guard to catch kicks easier. Thus leaving himself open for headkicks. Catching a kick from a guy with great Muay Thai like shogun isn't as simple as it seems
Bjmt
Yeah it's especially hard to try and catch a leg kick as it's lower, machida would be lucky to do it once, so i don't think that will be much of a factor in the fight.
tagas
you have a few ways to counter or avoid shoguns legs. 1. spinning back kick is the proper counter to a round house...that won't happen too often but if he land the s.b.k. a few times it will make shogun more hesitant to attack the body. 2.for a leg kick....a simple check will do and machida's timing is impressive. 3.his movement in avoiding kicks could change.....last fight he was lunging back a lot more then he should. a left or right dodge could allow some room to start a few combination. if machida stays close to shogun as he lunges side ways he could create some offense. 4. and of course, the distance that he keeps between him and shogun could alter a bit. again all that is not easy to do but mixing all that in could cause shogun to abandon his game plan of the first fight. imo, shogun's chance to win was in the first fight. now he faces a more ready machida with out the element of surprise......great game plan in the first fight for shogun but i just can't see it, be as effective in the rematch. which would probably result in an outcome most people expected in the first fight. a better fighter in machida and an understandable loss for shogun.
