Deep sea drilling ban overturned.

the judge that overturned the drilling ban was affiliated financially with a lot of oil companies past and present

There isnt a shred of evidence of that. He has a very small investment in a hedge fund that invests in lots of ocmpanies, some oil interests are in it, but its very small percentage.

The judge overturned it because it was illegal and stupid. It was going to cost the Gulf another 150,000 jobs all of which are solid middle class or higher jobs and over the course of 6 months experts predicted it would raise the price of a gallon of gas to 7$.

In an already weak economy and a particularly devastated gulf coast that ban was incredibly irresponsible and stupid.

It was probably just a pay off to Soros as some of the rigs were already in talks to contract with the Brazilian Petrobas oil company where Soros has 900,000,000 dollars invested.

you just said there wasn't a shred of evidence of the judge having financial interest in oil companies and then said he had an investment in a hedge fun that contains oil companies. hmmmm

I wasn't saying that's why he overturned it. I think the ban was stupid as well and just needed to be overturned regardless. I'm just saying that he had shares in the oil industry because i have been reading articles about it.

The guy had the equilivent of a few hundred dollars in stock in a hedgefund. Not enough to make any difference to any rational person.

Besides, if he upheld the ban those companies would just lease the rigs to petrobas or a saudi company that would pay slave wages and sell the oil for the same price. If anything stock in those companies would go up because of the ban not down.

The answer isn't to stop drilling, it's for our government to actually enforce the safety laws and review proposals for these deep see projects with a fine tooth comb instead of going home at 3p.m. on a Friday afternoon. The answer is for us to stop accepting government officials being taken out by high end staff of these companies to lunch where deffeciencies in back up plans are forgotton. The answer is none of these bastard top end oil company staff needing millions of dollars in bonuses whatever have you but instead reinvesting that money to make deffecient back up plans up to the task if disastor strikes. There are many answers and stopping drilling isn't one of them unless we are willing to stop breeding.

Do I see any of this happening? Nope, not really.

They just feel the need to squeeze every single last penny out of oil, when we could have electric/water carborated vehicles. I read somewhere that this oil leak will take at least 1 year to get plugged. A F*****G YEAR!!! What the hell??? That thing is like an underwater death volcano that will constantly dump millions of gallons into the sea per day for a year?? The effects of this on the ocean and our way of life are bigger than FOX NEWS will tell ya hahaha.

1st off no we cant have water cars. Thats a joke. And electric cars wouldnt work for a lot of reasons, but even if they could you still have to charge them and that electricity has to come from somewhere. So your just trading SOME oil in for coal. Not much of a trade.

2. No one is talking about how bad this is, not just FOX. But thats because no one really knows.

We dont know how much oil is underwater,

we dont know how long it will take to cap the well,

we dont know how much methane and other natural gasses have been released,

we dont know how that will affect oxygen levels in the water except for generally

We dont know how the change in water gasses will affect the various bacteria that also affect oxygen levels in the water

We dont know if President Bobo will ever suspend the jones act and let the other countries offering to help, help.

We dont know if President Bobo will ever get the EPA out of the way so cleanup efforts can proceed without endless bureaucracy slowing it down and stopping efforts entirely sometimes.

We dont know if President Bobo will ever stop the CG from stopping dredge boats from cleaning

We dont know if President Bobo will ever tell environmental organizations to **** off and let the burn offs and oil eating bacteria go to work.

We dont even know if this will be carried through the gulf of florida and go up the east coast or not.

In short this event is totally unprecedented in history and we have no idea how bad it may or may not become.

About all we do know is that the incompetent in chief who has never managed so much as a hot dog stand will continue to bungle this whole thing, but will be sure not to let this crisis go to waste in advancing the progressive agenda to destroy America.

Gotta love a captalist government!

See this is what happens when you get your news from MSNBC. Aka the proganda wing of the white house.

As the Associated Press reports today that judges oil holdings are actually in 3 ONSHORE DRILLING COMPANIES. All of whom would likely have their stock prices rise significantly if this moratorium remained in place.

So the judge actually ruled AGAINST his financial interest. But hey, since when did democrats let facts get in the way of a good smear campaign or conspiracy theory?

I'm not a democrat and this may be one in ten million instances a government official ruled against his financial interest. For every action like this about 50 are doing differently.

I lost a bid on a private water monitoring job to a f'ing employee of an adjacent county's public works division. We smoked every other engineering firm and were beaten by a guy who's not only getting paid a government salary but likely doing this work during the time his government job requires him to be working. I don't need to watch the news to be informed just how well our CAPITALIST government works;)

Guy was probably Union if he worked for the government, and hiring him was a pay off to the SOCIALISTS who run the unions and the democratic party.

Capitolism works, if we actually lived in a capitolist country, and you were really the better man for the job. Then you would have gotten it. Thats what capitolism does. Its socialist cronyism that leads to situations like you described.
