Carwin's Post Fight Blog Post

Recommended Posts

Gives a little bit of insight on how the guy was feeling during, and after the fight. Enjoy.

"I appreciate the outpouring of support and everyone who showed up at The Foundation Room last night after the fight. You guys know how to make a man feel like a winner even on his lowest of days. I really do want to thank #TeamCarwin. You guys pushed me up this mountain and many of you have been with me for a long time. I will need your help to climb back to the top so I appreciate you standing by me.

The game plan last night was to be patient and let the fight come to you. When I had him in trouble the ref keep saying he was going to stop it and then towards the end of the 1st my body began to seize up. In between rounds I could not move my legs and had what felt like a whole body cramp. My cardio was fine but my body was not. What can you do? You have to stand up and face your opponent.

Heading into the second I knew I need to finish the fight or I was going to be in trouble. Much like the Champion he is, I am sure Brock was thinking the same thing. I had zero take down defense as my legs were dead to me and the rest is as they say was history.

Brock was a good guy through this entire fight. He did not talk a bunch of smack and he fought like a warrior. He did what he needed to do to keep his belt and that is what being a Champion is all about. I am going to have to claw my way back to the top but I wouldn't want it any other way. I know I belong with the very best; all I need to do is prove it again.

Losing is what happens on the way to winning. I will be back and better from the lessons learned in this fight.

Thank you to my Coaches, Sponsors, Manager, Family, Friends and Fans.

-Carwin"

excuse. "ref kept saying he was gonna stop it" Complaining...

Yeah' date=' and every time the ref said it, Brock kicked his legs or hit Carwin from the bottom[/quote']

There's plenty of threads about what did, should have, or could have happened. If the ref said that, then the ref said that. It's not an excuse.

that's even worse... so basically, don't stop punching, keep punching yourself out, and i'll just not stop the fight, and you'll be gassed, and our dear annointed one "brock" will be fresh and take complete advantage.

of coarse shane wont make excuses, he's a stand up guy... and lesnar's begining to show some class, but now i have even more reason to blame the ref for the fight being dumped!

Carwin is a classy guy. I have always liked him. He lost fare and square. I do remember hearing the ref saying he will stop the fight if Brock doesn't do nothing and that's when Lesnar was moving and kicking up to avoid the barrage of punches. Then Shane said he gassed himself out. These things can happen even to the best of fighters

Carwin will be back.

On to the next fight

It is an excuse when you don't recognize the reason the ref didn't stop the fight. He is upset at himself and is deflecting it.

You obviously are missing the point. If the ref kept saying he was going to stop the fight, then Carwin would just drive on. Any fighter would. It's not an excuse when that's what actually happened. It's factual.

LT, Shane wasn't simply stating a fact, he was implying that he doesn't know why the ref didn't stop the fight when it was obvious that Brock was still completely aware and defending himself. It's like saying, I should've won the fight but the ref robbed me (without actually saying it).

Brock has grown as a human being, Shane seems to be taking a few steps back

Go read his blog from yesterday. It was pathetic.

In fact there is a thread about it and Im on there saying oh oh - this is a bad sign to have him voicing all this crap in public.

I was right.

There's still no excuse in there. All he said was "the ref kept saying he was going to stop it..." That's not an an excuse, and he doesn't dwell on it. Like I said, he's stating the facts. If the ref said that, he said it. End of story. I wouldn't over-anazlye it.
