Who will become Strikeforce MW Champion?

Now that Jake Sheilds has left Strikeforce, who will take the MW belt?

I think since Hendo is coming off a loss, he needs one win before getting another title shot. I think it should be Cung Le vs Jason 'mayhem' Miller for the title.

Dan henderson vs Sobral is possible for #1 contender, if Sobral is willing to fight at MW. I know there have been rumors of this fight. (possibly LHW or Catchweight)

Of course this is if Strikeforce definatly arent doing the Middleweight tourny. Which i would love to see.

Mayhem or Jacare for SF's belt. i think after Hendo's performance against Shield's he should be held off for a fight or two. Not so much to prove himself but it wouldn't help SF's reputation if they keep giving people who've lost a fight title shots right after

hendo can dummy him' date=' shields won using the gsp method which lee is incapable of[/quote']

Cung Le does have a wrestling backround. I dont think he could use the "GSP method" against Hendo, but could against people who dont wrestle, and might be able to defend Hendersons takedowns?

I think could outstrike Henderson to a UD, if he avoids the power of Dan. I dont think he could finish Henderson.

it wouldnt be a wrestling match,m it would be stand up and i see henderson taking it because hendo doesnt get KO'd

So a guy with some of the technically worst striking in MMA (Hendo) will beat a guy with some of the best (Le) in a standup match because he has a better chin?

Yeah that makes sense. Cabbage Coirerra won all sorts of fights because he had such a great chin....

Jacare will win the title, defend against Hendo or Mayhem, and lose it to Cung Le or Robbie Lawlor.

Unless they call Hector Lombard up from Belator, those 5 guys will be exchanging the title among them for the forseeable future. Cung Le only has a few fights left in him at his age, same as Hendo. Lawlor and Miller aren't exactly spring chickens themselves. I can see Jacare ending up as the undisputed MW king of StrikeForce when all is said and done.

Jacare v Kennedy is for the MW Title

then at the Strikeforce event after Houston' date=' there will be a tourney to decide a #1 contender.

so at the end of it all, I expect Jacare v Henderson.[/quote']

Does anyone know if the final line up for the tourney is set yet?

Way to contribute something intelligent and constructive to the conversation....

I did contribute **** clown. I said Jacare would win the title. I think this because I feel he his more talented than Tim Kennedy, Jason Miller, Robbie Lawler, Scott Smith, & Cung Le. I think Hendo would be able to take him but as mentioned earlier I don't Hendo will compete at 185 anymore and go after 205. Is that intelligent and constructive enough for you...

Didnt Hendo say after the Shields fight that he wasn't going to fight at mw again because the weight cut was too hard? I dont have a source but I know I saw something about it.

I've heard people on this forum talk about how Hendo will never cut down to 185 again, but I've never seen an article or link to Hendo saying that himself. I think it's what's smartest for him, but we'll have to wait and see I guess.

So for somebody with an obviously educated and thought out opinion, why did you have to reduce yourself to insults and calling out "Cung Le dicksuckers" because you don't agree?

I personally feel that although he has shown talent, it is way too early to declare without doubt that Jacare is more talented than anyone on that list. The BJJ championships speak for themselves, but a BJJ blackbelt alone is not enough to beat anyone on the list other than maybe Smith and Kennedy.

Jason Miller is moderately talented everywhere, Robbie Lawlor has killer KO power and decent skills with great TD defense, Cung Le is a brilliant technical striker with serious power as well. even Smith always has a one shot KO chance. In a straight grappling match, Jacare beats them all easily, but as people are always so quick to point out, this is MMA. We just have not seen enough of Jacare against fighters of this caliber with these particular skillsets, to flat out determine that he is beyond doubt better than anyone.

It would be a technical BJJ battle but while Maia might have a very slight technique edge, Jacare is stronger with better leverage, plus he is much more intense, so I think I would go Jacare FTW, but it would be very interesting to see.

I think Jacare vs Palhares would be a better matchup. They both have great bjj and Palhares is also very strong.

agreed' date=' and considering the two of them personally, it is more likely for them to develop into a slugfest.[/quote']

This is a possibility. I think they might respect eachothers ground game to much for either of them to go for a takedown. Thats until one of them starts getting the better of the standup

All that being said, Jacare and Hector Lombard are really the only two MWs in the world that I feel NEED to be in the UFC. But they will prove themselves, or be exposed soon enough and if they really are as good as they look then they will move up.
