Corner question, any help? Brew? G_row? Anyone?

So I locked in a sponsorship with oxygen4energy.com for my next few fights... If you don't know what it is, it's a canned oxygen company (kinda like a giant inhaler). I came across it a while back in an article about James Wilks using it to train. Seemed like a really good idea to me, so we got in touch and bam, I'm sponsored also!

So my question is, I haven't found anything against it online, but what are the odds you could use it in your corner? In between rounds, ya come over get some water, catch a blast of o2, and head back out refreshed... Whatcha think? I'm sure there has to be someone that knows for sure on here

I also have the fear of 'no yes' = a no in MMA lol

I am pretty sure that boxing has rules against taking O2 in the corner between rounds.

It could be great for recovery but I wouldn't go crazy with using it during training. You don't want to condition your body to being used to getting those O2 shots when it is depleted, because if it turns out it is illegal during a fight, that portion of what you are conditioned to will be missing and your body will fail.

Taking concentrated O2 after training for recovery only is actually vey beneficial though.

exactly. Hell if I had my way I'd just wheel out a O2 tank right to my corner with a mask on for 100% pure oxgyen

Just throw on one of those Wandi face mask/snorkel rigs with a hose on the snorkel running directly to an O2 tank....

Then to make thiings interesting, in case of a fight not finished in the alotted time, there is a 5 minute OT with both fighters hooked to Nitrous Oxide just for kicks.

We could have a whole new sport brewing here.....

Maybe both fighters spin the wheel beforehand to see what gas they get? Man my mind is rolling now.....

I'd just say I'm asthmatic and need my steroid inhaler to keep breathing. Thus when I'm juiced during training I'll say its from that lol

I was thinking that too lol

I figured they probably wouldn't allow it but that it was worth a try, worse case scenario they say no and I have to do it the old fashioned way, with hard work... Damnit lol

When I've been in the corner at fights, that would not be allowed. I must admit that I am intrigued by this product and it's uses other than fighting. I will go check out their site.

Congrats on your sponsorship, remember to mention them in your victory speech, it goes a long way to maintaining sponsors and getting new ones. (Best to make a list and give it to your cornerman) Good luck in your fights.

Nope. Not at all. Athletic commissions won't allow anything besides water, for so many reasons. The UFC (or other large mma org) will not allow unapproved sponsor placement. Every single piece of logo from a sponsor goes through an approval process, and it is very strict where they are allowed to appear. Fighters trying to sneak in an extra logo, or during a round break, are subject to fines.
