Do you play an instrument?

How many of you play an instrument and what kind?

Have you tried to play an instrument how did it go?

I have played the drums for 5 ish years and started because I thought it looks fun and why not. Now I feel I have improved alot in all aspects apart from live performance.

I never really tried to get in a band or "get out there".

In my 4th year of playing I hit a wall where it never felt like I was improving until decided to buy some electronic drums and started to record myself.

I have also tried guitar, but didn't find it as fun, as well as harmonica which is pretty hard actually (but still having a go).

If you don't play an instrument do you have any stories from local gigs etc that were funny, amazing etc.

I played the saxophone in Junior High Jazz band because I wanted to be like the sax player (Shades was his name) on "the Muppet Show"....

After a few years I realized it was having the exact opposite effect ( wasn't getting any girls ) and I quit.

I decided to take up guitar to keep myself outta trouble the year after high school' date=' so as of now, I've been playing for about 3 1/2 years. Not great but love playing acoustic chill stuff (alot of Jack Johnson, Sublime, Tom Petty in my repetoire)[/quote']

I play guitar and harmonica. You tube Marc Barrett and check out the Banana Pancakes cover I posted. Let me know what you think.

Thanks. I've been playing for about 9 years. I'm self taught so a lot of my techniques are impropper. Gets the job done I guess.

I play the harmonica. I know it sounds lame, but I was a big Bob Dylan fan in my teens, and I picked it up. Self taught, though I did buy a few books on how to teach yourself, but after a while it just is something you either get or you don't. I got pretty good, a few of my friends are in bands (one in Hollywood, the other in Austin, TX) and I've done a track for each of them on their CDs. It's a fun instrument cause it's easy to carry around, and once you get to whaling on it, you can really get a lot of improv'd inner emotion out.
