I think this would be a great match up anybody else think so, i think rich franklin can be a big threat in the LHW divison,personally i think Rich Franklin would beat Shogun...

Would be a good fight, I like both guys. But until we see Franklin fight some more top guys in the LHW division, im gonna have to say Shogun would win. Solely based on the fact that Shogun has been more impressive lately.

 

That being said, Franklin is no push over.

 

He has 4 losses in the UFC.

2 are from Anderson Silva - definately no shame in that.

another from a very very controversial loss to Dan Henderson

and Vitor Belfort - No shame in that.

i hate Rashad with a passion so i can not condone of him winning any fights, but even when i look at it i don't see how Rashad would win unless Shogun was not at 100.

Rich Franklin is a major contender. He comes in with a game plan like couture, has great cardio, very underestimated stand up, and can adapt to bad situations. I think he is a major threat to any lhw, including shogun. He should not be overlooked because of his loss to vitor.

I would love to see this fight. Shogun has all the advantages but Ace can take a lot of punishment and keep throwing hard shots. Theres a strong possibility of seeing him counter Rua into a K.O.

I can see Franklin getting in the express lane for a title belt because he's a big name, former champ who just took out a former champ and a Machida rematch is way too early....

Rampage, Forest, Jon Jones, Bader will all probably need more fights by the time Shogun defends a 2nd time. But that's alot of ifs... all i'm saying is I could see it happening,

Listen Franklin is a monster no question about it. But, look Shogun is the beast in the LHW div. I honestly thought Lyoto was the best in the world after he won that title from Evans because he was unstoppable in his fights and Shogun really won me over in the first and second fight. Shogun is really really good and thats not taking anything away from Franklin, but he just isn't on the same level.

 

Franklin does have the ablility to make some noise in the divsion, but he won't touch gold again in the UFC.

So losing to Hendy, then winning a decision over a fighter who should fight at 185(wandy), then getting KTFO by Belfort, then beating a washed up fighter is on a rampage? I would state that all these guys are legends, but cmon now.
