Why a Mir vs Nog II??

Reluctanter

I mean who could possibly be interested in this fight except a revenge thirsty Nog?

Mir's gonna win this fight, like we all know he will, and then what? Another 3 months seeking a lame contender? Why not giving him a true test that might put him in the title track or vanish him from the octagon?

As for the Nog bros... I would not travel to see my two children that night if I were their mom.

if you were anyones mom they would probably kill themselves. the reason there is a rematch is because nog had staff infection the first time. you obviously dont know much about mma except whos fighting next because this is a highly anticipated rematch. maybe not to you clowns, but to any REAL mma fan. the fact that nog fought with a staff infection is amazing. a fully healthy nog will rape a b i t ch like mir.

I agree completely. I have no idea what these other people are talking about saying it will be interesting. It's going to last 3-4 minutes at the most and the aging big nog will get destroyed...I don't really see the point in having nog around at all b/c I don't think there are many that he can contend with in the UFC and he will NEVER get the title so really, why??

.....because the UFC respects the accomplishments of veterans like the Nog's and others who have paid their dues long past but haven't seen the same type paydays' of the modern MMA/UFC fighter. They are deserving.. That's why. And, because there are more people who appreciate the heart and experience of the veterans than there are those who don't....like you and yours. : )

3/4ths of the Heavyweight division doesn't have a shot at becoming a UFC champion so maybe they should just all quit fighting and get regular jobs:rolleyes:. Mir doesn't have a chance to be a champion right now. He will never beat Lesnar, Carwin, JDS, or Cain at this point in his career so maybe he should retire too. I'm not a huge Nog fan but this post was retarded. He is 32-6 in his career so yeah he is horrible:rolleyes:

Mir would destroy Cain. They were protecting the great brown hype from any real challenges for as long as they could though to milk that Latino market.

Brock will make Cain look foolish and make all the Cain bandwagoners wake the hell up finally.

I respect the accomplishments but that doesn't mean I continue to put him in the cage to be a punching bag. At certain point you have to realize your limitations and if you are unable to do that than at the very least the UFC should step in and realize them for you. It's not entertaining to see a guy who was once great getting beat up...if he could show that he's still at the same level as his competition then it would be different.

You apparently have not watched his last few fights and are obviously stuck on his fantastic record. I'd like to educate you on the word "record"...it is a term that refers to the past. There are many in the heavyweight division that have a shot at the title...Mir can't beat Lesnar? I believe they are 1-1. Of course Lesnar is going to have the atvantage right now against pretty much anyone in the division but that by no means makes him invincible. It only takes one solid punch, or one careless position to end a fight. You obviosuly are the retarded one and OBVIOUSLY know nothing about the sport. Did Werdum really have a chance against Fedor?? The reason I say Big Nog has NO chance is because he will have to work him way through a tough HW division to get a title shot and the UFC is not a place for stringing together multiple fights where you are not the best fighter.

+ 100 Mir will retire Nogueria in the 1st round .

And why the other Nogueria is even fighting.....Jason Briles dominated him he whole fight...before getting ripped off by the Judges.

This fight between Mir and Nogueria is happening because Nogueria wouldnt stop whining about staph infection. (Cain KOed him too so it was no fluke!)

I'm interested in it. Who says Mir will win? I think he could very well lose. I hate Mir. Just because Nog lost to staph, then #1 contender does not mean he's done yet. Mir got his test. He fought for the title and got trashed by Brock. Then he got another shot at the interim belt and got destroyed by Carwin. Mir is not a top HW to me with the big talent we have now. He can have the loser of JDS/Roy if he's lucky and I think he would lose to both. Fighting Nog is win/win. Mir wants the fight because he thinks he'll win and use that as an excuse to scream "I want Brock AGAIN." If he loses then we can all say that staph was contributed to Nog's lose and it was a fluke. Either way I am happy to see Mir get beat up some more, he needs it.

Oh come one who DOESN'T want to see this fight.

Sure Frank won easily in their first match. No question. But both fighters are terrific BJJ guys so if it hits the floor it will be a tactical classic. And both guys have respectable hands so there is a good chance either guy could get knocked out.

I would tend to believe Frank has better stand up, but that is deceptive because Nog wasn't 100% in their first fight.

I don't think this one will be a repeat of the last fight. It's evenly matched and I can't wait to see these two veterans fight again. They both could use a win right now as they are coming off losses. It should be a memorable fight.

I really don't get you noobs. Nog's last fight was against the guy who now has the next title shot.

Sure Mir beat him good the first time' date=' but Nog was sick prior to that fight. And that's what rematches are for. Nog loses first, Mir loses second.... epic trilogy?[/quote']

That's a big IF Mir loses...Nog better bring a gun.

The fact is that he won't have Brock (current champion) again just by beating Nog. And that's exactly the point of his thread: Beating old Nog again will bring him nothing, and we all know that.

As for the staph infection, yeah, he had the same infection Forrest got on the fight with Silva, the kind of infection that turns you into a sandbag.

To all Mir haters: you're just pissed bc you know there's not better BJJ in the heavyweight division. Mir must have learned a lot after seeing Lesnar's last fight.

I agree Mir will retire Nogueria in the 1st round!

Nogueria is a 75 year old man in a 30 something year old body of vice versa.....Mir will pick him apart and submit him or KO him again!

No more excuses for NOG whens he loses to Mir.

Hopefuly Mir will face the winner of gonzaga/Schaub

Carwin to face the loser of Nelson/Dos Santos

And then hopefully Mir Vs Carwin 2 for the No1 contender

Mir winning and facing Brock lesnar.....

Building it all up with them being coaches of TUF season 14 :P

Both coming off bad KO losses..

Nog looked awesome against Randy and wants to prove that the staph infection was the only reason for his loss to Mir.

Mir has never beaten a name (not including a "lucky" win against Brock in his 2nd ever fight) & wants to increase his stock and get his name back in the fold by beating a lagend, also wants to prove the 1st win was no fluke

Thats the reason for me.....

Also who else would he fight??

Cain,Brock,JDS,Roy are all fighting eachother.

I don't think he would want/deserve another fight with Carwin.

There is no1 else left who is better than Nog.

Mir is now a gatekeeper (like Argentina in the world cup). If you want to get higher in the ranks and get a title shot, they often get put through Mir. People come to see him fight, so they find fights for him. Like others have said, who else would he fight?

As said above, Mir might not be champion again but he draws a crowd and to get to Lesnar they need to go through at least some of the top five. Mir also draws WOMEN *points at self*. I?m going to see them in IN mostly for Mir vs Nog (to see Nog made a permanent fixture after being punched into the mat) but the card in general is pretty good!

To sell ppv's. Neither one of them is a contender but they have big names.
+1

Although if that was always true they would bring back Kimbo' date=' he?ll never win but DAMNNNN did he ever sell a lot of tickets/ppv?s!

I dunno, I think lots of people would still show up to see any of the old vets or hall of fame-ers, no matter how old or out of it they were?. UFC 247 - Couture vs Abbott anyone? Heh.
