Anderson's Antics - he is just Scared

There has been so much said about Anderson's last fight - his antics, the showboating and his unwillingness to get in there and get the job done. And everyone seemed so confused.

But the answer is so obvious - he was scared to death of losing his belt and he knew if he really fought then Maia would have gotten a hold of him and it would have been over. It was a strange fight to watch, but not so difficult to understand.

Anderson was way, way better than Damian in the stand up. But he also knew that he was no match at all for Damain on the ground. As Joe Rogan said during round three, Anderson was getting tired. And that made him unsure of himself which is when Anderson started playing around and doing just enough to win the fight.

Plain and simple - he was scared.

It should be interesting to see what happens in this fight with Chael.

Name a time in Anderson's carreer where he was in danger of losing his belt? Luter, Hendo? Why would he be scared? He's a fighter, and has been a fighter for a very long time.. It's up to the challenger to TAKE the belt, not the champion to GIVE the belt away..

It is a fight - not 'let's see if you can take my belt from me'. Both go in and see if they can finish the other.

Plain and simple, Anderson was tired and scared and the showboating was to distract everyone from it.

He won't be knocking anyone out on Aug 7. This is truly going to be an interesting fight and a tough one to call. You gotta break it down

* Anderson couldn't take Damian out in five rounds

* Nate took Damian out in one punch

* Nate and Chael went at it for 3 brutal rounds - neither was close to being knocked out

How would you compare Nate vs Anderson in terms of BJJ? That could be a deciding factor. If they are about equal then Anderson is going to have some major problems on Aug 7.

Anderson's only chance in this fight is with his footwork. He is an artist like I've never seen. If he can keep away from Chael, while pummeling then he will have it.

If Chael gets a hold of him then it's going to be a bad night for Anderson.

On the other hand, Chael's achilles heel has been submission guys, but i do believe he has improved.

Anderson can take a punch (he took Patrick Cote's punches with ease) so Chael will not knock him out.

Looking at his record, it indicates Cjhael is tough as nails, but no knock out artist. He is a grinder who won't stop unless stopped. If he can take Anderson's punches then it will be a great fight to see. But we will know within the first minute who will come away with the belt.

All factors considered - it is going to be Chael's night if he comes in sharp and prepared.

No fighter in the UFC is afraid of their opponent. Definetly not the most dominant champion ever in UFC.

Silva toyed with him until he got tired. Maia should?ve never taken the fight because he fights in the little league compared to Silva.

And you sir are an idiot who don?t know much about fighting.

Wrong. He was proving he will not be intimidated by Dana's threats. He did it to try and stuff the MMA market in Abu Dabi.

I don't understand why fans compare fights like this.

There are way too many factors and uncontrollable variables that go in to any given fight to compare.

it always amazes me how effective the hype machine works. People are pumped about another MW who doesn't stand a chance against AS.

This fight has zero interest, well it has: will AS KO Sonnen in the 1st minute or will it be in the 2nd? Maybe a submission, Wow can't wait!

It's been 2 years since AS has had a worthy opponent at MW, and he won't face a worthy opponent while the fans are happy about fights like AS vs: Thales Leites, Cote, Maia, Sonnen... and so on

Fights are always broken down in terms of strengths and weaknesses based upon past performances. It is true that there are many uncontrollable variables and that is what makes MMA great. You never really know what is going to happen.

However, I have an excellent prediction rate in every UFC card based upon looking at as many variables as are evident

Maia is little league in the stand up compared to Silva and Silva is little league compared to Maia in BJJ. Maia is amazing at BJJ.

And dude, all fighters get fearful some times. And Silva has so much more to lose than the average UFC figher now. Everyone is so busy kissing his **** and telling him he is the greatest this and that so that there is now so much pressure on him. Pressure wears on the man as evidenced in his fights in the last couple of years, compared to his fights a couple of years before that.

And you sir are an idiot based only on your quote regarding Lesnar. That and any lack of insight

Yea and Maias gameplan worked like a charm right? NO, that?s why Maia was scared and not Silva.

And no not all fighters get fearful some times. And Nobody is kissing his **** except the fans. He?s a humble person who just wants to fight. He doesn?t even consider himself as the best. As you see he has no pressure for this Fight and Sonnen can?t get into his head because Silva just find it amusing..

And you sir are an Idiot who didn?t see Brock lay down like a ***** waiting for the ref to stop the fight. DUDE HE RAN FROM HIM LIKE A *****.

He has no standup, his wrestling is crap since he couldn?t do much against Randy or even Carwin.

The only reason he won that fight was because Carwin let it all go since he thought the ref would stop the fight.. Did you even watch the fight ?

He choked out a gassed Carwin, whoppdie doo ****er...

Brock is a ****** and his fans are too. WWE is much better suited for you guys,.
