tbh i didnt know of this guy until ufc117/trashtalk on.

yes i saw his fight against nate but i didnt pay that much attention on it i thought it was just a typical close decision fight ok lets get down to business

as we all certainly know his trash talk is the most eventful thing in UFC 117 so far but why does he do this and where is he getting at? im usually not sensitive in such things.. at his first trash talks i was like "oh okay" but up to the point that he sometimes doesnt make sense anymore? [i was hyped of it bec. i heard things that he's good in talking trash but i still consider frank mir's as top1 i mean if frank's trash doesnt get in your nerves you have to check your meds]

well with anderson im not really sure about this but i think he's acting the same way he acts before he doesnt talk that much in the mic. but he'll do the talking inside that's for sure.

now back to sonnen, what really is he getting at? the PPVs? self confidance? but how about getting into silva's nerves? demian got into silva's nerves but what happened? particularly in the 1st and 2nd round he got man handled and played upon by silva. all because of demian's small trash. specifcally "imma take your leg off like one's of a spider" bit lol. but what happened afterwards? the 3rd/4th-5th rounds silva does nothing. he maybe either tired or shamed of what he did or whatever but nevertheless he looked the most vulnerable silva we have ever seen him before, that a demian(a learning stand up fighter) can hit a couple of shots on him and scare the heck out of him(i have to admit silva somehow looked a bit scared really. i dont like maia tho his way of taking the fight to the ground specifically with silva's is kinda hilarious.) so yea what im getting at is if silva acted this way on demian's small trash talk what more do you expect with sonnen's trash. he may act the same way next time.. could it be possible that sonnen is aiming for that exact scenario? and possibly capitalize on it? practically he has a chance if ever. it doenst sound much of a plan but in fighting anderson silva you have to beat the odds. i still cant see him winning tho :) if ever you read up to this i love you <3

Chael hasn't really had many fights in the UFC, but he fought for WEC until they got rid of the heavier weight classes. I believe it's welterweight and up, and that's where UFC got some of the "up and commers" such as Carlos Condit, Brian Stann, and Mark Munoz. Sonnen was a top contender in his division. He lost the first title fight via submission but not before he dominated the champion. They had a rematch but the champ didn't make weight, which means their fight was not going to be a title fight. Sonnen fights him anyway goes all rounds pretty much beating the champ up... He wins via decision...

He is also a politician, and that's why he talks... I think he just likes to hear the sound of his voice half the time... But, I do think he is fairly talented in the octagon...

Do I think he can beat Silva? Not so much...

I think Silva is extremely talented, but I didn't enjoy his last performance...

With that said...

I love upsets, I love watching giants fall, and I love watching people who haven't been defeated in a while lose, so in a sick twisted way, I want Chael Sonnen to win.

The only upset that I didn't so much enjoy was Edgar over Penn...

i had been thinking he was talking this much because of the maia incident for a while. he talks about taking the low road, in one of his speaches he says something like "do you want to fight a fighter when hes 100%? hell no, you want to when hes sick". thats not word for word, but somthin like that, and i think this is chaels way of making him not 100%

People aren't robots. They don't act the same way based on certain stimuli regardless of the previous consequences. Undoubtedly, Silva will take into consideration the negative criticism that resulted from his actions in the cage last time and act differently in response to a "loud-mouth" opponent. I truly believe that Silva will shut Sonnen up, not for the fans, not for Dana White, but for himself and his partners. I think the talk of him retiring at 185 is because he realizes and is disappointed in the fact that fans will turn on him at his first mis-step and forget everything he's done. I think this fight is really personal for Silva because it shows that fans will jump on the bandwagon of a complete nobody even though he's fought his career using unique movement and impressive strategies to make a spectacle for the fans without putting himself in great danger. Unfortunately, you guys have broken Silva in the fact that he no longer gives a damn if you guys are happy or not. You saw this in the video conference. He is going to finish his contract and retire because no matter what he does, he realizes that nothing will ever be good enough. At some twisted angle you will be able to misconstrue his actions as dodging or disrespectful or fearful to belittle everything he's accomplished. Congratulations, guys.
