KarateMark
If he is healthy he will hold his belt for a good amount of time Yeah' date=' but he'll gas late in the 2nd like against Forrest because he will be out of shape and everyone will cry foul because he was injured, blah blah blah. Rashad can get the W. The LHW class is by far the most competitive. The only 2 to fight top fighters to absolutely demolish their opponents is Machida (against Rashad, Thiago and Tito) and Rashad (Forrest and Chuck [he was supposed to fight Shogun']). Shogun did KO Machida, but Shogun did not destroy Machida like Machida did to Rashad. Machida definitely wasn't getting picked apart. It was 1 well placed punch to an otherwise completely RTG Machida, not a flurry of several exchanges where he progressively smashed his face in over and over as Machida got more delirious each time. I watched the Forrest vs Shogun fight on my UFC Top 100 Blu Ray the other night and Forrest was sticking it to him when he wasn't tired. Shogun was fighting very well against him like good ol' Shogun, but was being one-upped nearly everytime. Then when he gassed, man he got worked. Then 2 victories over two over-the-hill fighters that should have hung their gloves up a few years ago. He had two good fights against Machida, one of them he got in the punch to take the belt. Shogun vs Machida were Shogun's 2 best performances. Machida was, exchange for exchange, overall beating him on the scorecards in both fights. (until the KO obviously). Harris170
The first Machida fight proved he has the gas tank to go through five rounds. Thats a possibility but already questionable conditioning will certainly not get any better after a knee injury. If he wouldnt of got hurt and kept training up until december i woudl def say he has a chance. But after all this im goin to say and i stick by it Shogun will be a flash in the pan
FLkicksass
i think that if rashad gets a few solid td each round and works some gnp he will win as long as he doesnt get sub. and remember if shogun rocks him like T.S. did he wont hesitate to go in for the kill. this is a hard one for me to call but i realy hope rua is in good shape! Anyway Rashad seems to get rocked by lesser strikers than Shogun in 3 round fights, well now it's a five round fight against a better test than anybody he faced before...
