Ufc champs 2011

Ok guys, so who's gonna be champs by July 2011 after watching things shaping up in all the divisions over the last year - my personal picks for each division along with other likely possible champs are as follows -

HW - Lesnar - Carwin

These are the only two guys in the division who can beat each other. JDS and Cain are two small to beat either of them. I don't see anyone else coming along either to challenge this two horse race (I'm a fedor fan but I'm being realistic in accepting that he probs won't end up in the UFC). The only other option is Overeem who has the size and skills to beat either of these guys but again, it is up in the air whether he ends up in Dana's clutches.

LHW - Jon Jones

No other options with this one. In 12 months and 3 to 4 fights time, Bones should be just about champ. The guy is a freak and is the next phenom of mma. Simple as. Unfortunately Rashface evans has found a very dull but effective way of winning fights so I see him being around as #1 contender.

MW - Anderson Silva - Mark Munoz

Forget Belfort, the guy is a constant overhyped disappointment and he will not get the better of A Silva if they ever fight. If Silva moves to LHW then I see Munoz becoming champ if the belt is vacated. If silva does not vacate the belt then he will not be beaten in the MW division. End of.

WW - Gsp - Jake Shields

Shields is the only person who stands a chance of out GSPing GSP in that he could grind out a very boring fight and win a majority wrestling based decision. He is obviously a tough son of a gun and can take a shot so will be tough to beat by anyone's standard.

LW - BJ Penn

He mis timed his cut in Abu Dhabi and gassed in the heat against a very well conditioned, scrappy guy who hardly needs to cut at all. This won't happen again and he will be champ again until he retires.

What does everyone else think?

Not bad' date=' but why jones? Who's he fought? Personally i'm looking forward to the janitor wiping the floor with him.[/quote']

I don't think it's who he's fought. It's how he's fought.

Good list, should be interesting to see what they do with Jones after he beats The Janitor.

HW- Carwin

Hes gonna get the rematch with brock and finish what he started

LHW- Shogun

Hell beat Rashad and win the rubber match with Machida even though he already one the first 2

MW- Nate Marquardt

A. Silva will have beaten Sonnen and Belfort and hell retire......then Nate fights Sonnen in rematch for vacant championship

WW- GSP

After he destroys Koscheck i see him winning a unaminous over Shields. GSP FTW

LW- BJ Penn

After he destroys Edgar, hell destroy Maynard in his next fight. then hell dominate til he retires

HW - Lesnar

As much I would love to say Carwin, I cant see him defeating Brock in a rematch.

LHW - Shogun

I would back Shogun against any LHW, the only fighter in his Division that can truly test him is Machida IMO.

MW - Anderson Silva

He will not move up in weight, will not retire for at least 2-3 years so I can see him being champion until then.

WW - Jon Fitch

Although I cant stand watching Fitch's fights I do believe he has what it takes to beat GSP if/when they fight again.

LW - BJ Penn

Agree with SinisterKimura. After he destroys Edgar, hell destroy Maynard in his next fight. then hell dominate til he retires

Heavyweight-Cain velasquez or Shane carwin

I see one of these two being champs because until Brock betters his stand-up game I font think he can beat these two

Light Heavy- Rashad

I really don't like him but I think he will beat shogun with his wrestleing.I think rashad will keep shogun down and get the UD alla GSP without causing any damage.

Middle- sonnen

I know ppl don't think so but I do.

Welter-don't really care probobly GSP forever with his LNP

light- bj Penn or gray Maynard

I hope Maynard gets past Kenny wich I'm sure he will and then bullies bj to get the UD

Bones looks good, but so does everyone until they move up in competition. He still has about 3 fights before he would be a mjor contentder. If he wins convincingly this week, put him in against Franklin, that will tell us where he is for real.

HW: JDS- I see him being the only one besides Carwint hat can beat Lesnar

LHW: Bader- Rashad will beat Shogun and Jones won't fight him because they are buddies, so Bader will.

MW: GSP- Super fight with A. Silva and wins

WW: GSP- No ones beatin him

LW: G-Sot- Wins his next fight and then gets a title shot, which he wins. He then defends his belt.
