He got a 60k bonus' date=' lol.[/quote']

that's pennies.

the ufc had around 1 million buys for 117. 1 mill x's $50 (give or take for each ppv buy) ='s 50 million f*cking dollars. that's not even counting tickets, advertisements, etc.

anderson gets a piece of the ppv; so he conceivably earned over a million.

and chael was in the main event and sold the sh*t out of 117. $60 thousand is sh*t. he's got to pay coaches, training partners, manager, etc. he was in the main event, fighting for a title. and he was only guaranteed 35K? that's nuts. and he gets a 60K bonus? still insane.

ouchhhh, low blow, haha.

And for you guys saying some fighters are getting paid too low, I'm pretty sure it's done by their current contractual agreements. Both Chael and Big country, upon their entrance, have not renewed their contracts (in nelson's case I suppose) or done enough to deserve a significant pay raise by the time the next contract rolled in (Possible Chael's case).

Thiago and Fitch are ranked really high and have been with the UFC for awhile, thus their increase in pay. Anderson and Hughs obviously get paid a lot, and yes, Anderson gets a PPV cut.

I'm sure when Nelson gets his contract renewed he'll get a pay raise, same goes for chael.

To people asking questions about why Silva didn't get a win bonus, a lot of people's contract who have a base pay and no win bonus get percentages of PPV - Evans, Machida, Lesnar, Couture, Liddell, etc. Rampage and Nogueira are the only two I can think of who have a super high base, a win bonus and receive cuts of the PPV.

Ok so Nelson gets 15,000 as a base and I'd assume that's 30,000 if he wins. That means he needs to fight AND win three times a year for 90,000 which is still short of a six-figure contract he won. Yeah I know endorsements and all that easily put him over, but that still seems very, very off to me.

wow guys are underpaid wtf. I remember seeing salaries on some of the previous cards and I thought Oh well they're not paid as much as boxers but they still make decent salary. But this is just crap. They really all got ripped off on that. Maybe not Hughes.. 200k for being at that point in his career is good + the sub of the night bonus. But still.. Why doesn't Silva get a win bonus? They got tired of giving him win money? And Chael 35k? what the hell? Basically every fighter on that card went underpaid it's really the worst ******** I,ve ever seen. Especially considering it was an historical PPV buy rate.

Guys train full time for months and they get that lil money.. what a shame. I hope they get big money from their sponsors..

Its all contracted the fighters agreed to sign the dotted line so I don't see what the issue is. I myself signed the dotted line twice for the US Army knowing very well what I was getting into. Same thing for the fighters. On a more touchy issue with pay raises how about obama cutting the annual pay raise soldiers are supposed to get to a lower percentage.

The UFC doesn't get the full amount of pay per view buys. I don't even think that they get half. I agree that fighters deserve to get paid more.

Uhh Matt Hughes and Anderson made the same amount

Also' date=' the majority of the fighters are not getting paid enough at all.[/quote']

Hughes has been fighting for the UFC for 9 years now. That is alot of promoting and appearances for the company. He is also one of the most dominate champions ever. He deserves to be a top paid fighter. He may not be what he used to be but he still sells merchandise and tickets.

UFC pay for even the top ranked guys is pretty pathetic. Chael sonnen only getting 35k after hyping the ppv numbers to around a million is absolutely crazy. How can there not be a min amount for a title fight when the ppv numbers are so high? I think any challenger fighting for a title should get at least 70k bearing in mind that they are the top contender in the division. Carwin for instance only got 40k for the brock fight on an event which did 1.3m ppv's. By comparison, robbie lawler in strikeforce is on 100k a fight and michael bisping is on around 160k for basically just being very fit and moving around a lot. Carwin should go to strikefore where he would be paid 400k min a fight if he agreed on fighting fedor, overeem and werdum. In a year he would make 1.2m and be set for life, rather than having to still work a ****ing day job.

Sorry' date=' being a big Frankie fan I couldnt help myself.....and "towhatend" I have no disillusions about Frankies chances, he is the underdog and has a even more difficult fight than the first one.[/quote']

It was a pretty funny comment though, not going lie. But yeah I agree he's in trouble. I'm almost glad Penn lost the fight because he needed to refocus.
