everlast69
What I mean is, coming into the Rampage fight, will he be back as that 'fighter who never lost a round and was never hit'? or has his fighting style been caught out?

This is coming from a Shogun fan Machida is the number 2 LHW and I think Rampage matches up horribly against Machida. Machida 30-27 UD but I wouldn't be surprised by a 3rd round TKO either. I'm pretty sure he will go back to just not getting hit and counter punching guys like Rampage for 15 minutes though. He doesn't wanna run the risk of getting to aggressive with Rampage's power in both hands so he will hang back and just put a 3 round counter striking clinic on him. I just don't think Rampage can get him down and even if he did I don't think he could do anything and I definitely don't think Page can strike with him. Rampage's only chance is to actually counter Machida with a very big shot and it could happen. Machida has to be smart and use that speed advantage because one punch KO power goes to Rampage by a longshot and really that's Jackson's only chance. Page needs to counter the counter striker coming in with a hook or uppercut from either hand and he can win. I think it's a terrible match up for him though
kopite83
My initial thought is that he will be too fast for Rampage and will win via decision. However, if Rampage gets in shape for this fight (unlike the Rashad fight), he could easily win by a one punch KO. The Shogun KO on Machida will be fresh in his mind so I'm expecting Machida to a bit hesitant to engage. He will probably stay outside the pocket and pick off Rampage as he comes forward. A guy like Rampage with that much KO power is only one punch away from victory. So he does have a chance but I'm still picking Machida for this one. Unfortunately I think Machida will become a boring fighter again after being KO'd by Shogun. He over committed with that right and paid the price. He's a counter striker and lost with a counter punch, so if Rampage presses the action I don't think it will work well for him. Machida will become a mystery again, except it will be a very boring one.

He won't mess with Rampage's power he will treat this like some of his earlier UFC decision wins and circle out a lot and make Page come to him. 30-27 across the board. Cosmicjewzombie
I think machida will win most of the fight until rampage catches him with something. If machida wins it will be by decision ,but if Page wins I think a 2nd rnd KO.

Rampage matches up horribly against Machida. if history has taught us anything then this is 100% truth. machida can ONLY be beaten via leg kicks. rampage hasn't thrown a leg kick since his mother was saying "feel him kick....wait......wait.................wait........seriously wait for it...........wait.............." But if Rampage can get ahold of him.. (( he is slow )) he can ko him... I am going for Rampage vs the game .
