Eatin? ain?t Cheatin?

Written by: Zackary Adams

Or..... "The battle of the Bulge and (Alleged) Needle

Recently(as reported on this site), ex-Interim UFC Heavyweight Champ Shane Carwin has been reported as a person linked to steroids. He?s all but gone underground since the news hit, and claimed he would ?make a statement at a later time? through his manager. Evidently that statement didn?t cover everyone?s favorite gabbing site, twitter. Shane?s been having a bit of a tiff with another UFC heavyweight over the allegations.

And who better to have a 140 letter or less battle with than Roy Nelson! From @RoyNelsonMMA:

?Just woke up and was reading the mma news websites and only one had real news ufc champ shane carwin steroids court case?

Dude got KO'd by Arlovski... he should just STFU Carwin would put him to sleep.

Dude was owning Arlovski on the ground but the ref gave Arlovski a hand. And it's not like Arlovski is can who can't hit hard...

I agree the fight was not going AA's way...

court documents aren't enough?

See, that's the thing. It's been a week since I've been on these forums and I log on today and there's a whole bunch of people talking about Carwin and steroids, but I see no link, so I think it's old news, but I haven't heard anything about it.

Just because someone makes an allegation in court does not make it true.

this is the dr involved in the chris benoit case if im not mistaken so i'd like to think that they've done their homework

EDIT: it was signature pharmacy that was involved in the benoit case, so i retract this statement

A doctor that is serving a jail sentence had Carwin's name on his list of clients. That doctor also sent packages to Carwin's gym in Colorado as well.

you will get people that will still refute it because they don't wanna believe it's true. the facts are out there so you may not like it but you'll have to accept it at some point

Pay attention to that response, it's important. The ref basically let Arlovski keep his arm.

There is no shame in getting knocked out by arlovski hes a good striker, just because hes not as good now as he was couple years ago doesnt mean he would be a poor striker and that fight was rigged, ref stood em up in very wrong time

The doctor has made allegations of this. Again, that does not make it true. I'm not saying that Carwin is 100% guaranteed to be innocent, but just because someone points their finger at you doesn't mean you are automatically guilty. That is what is called a witch hunt, for good reason.

Damn my view on Carwin may change after this. I hope he doesn't act like a ****** and try to have some feud with Nelson.

If Carwin did use steroids before entering the UFC I'll have no problem with that if he fesses up to it like a man but, if he tries to beat around the bush with us about it and deny out the **** my level of respect for him will be gone which is sad, because I always viewed Carwin as a good role model and ambassador type for this sport.

Say it aint so Mum, say it aint so.

Anyone see any dates on these papers?

Was this recent, pre UFC or when?

If it was during the UFC it does raise many concerns not only is one of my 2 fav fighters a drug cheat but the only reason he got caught is someone elses doing. This would mean if he used a fake name he would have been fine thus the whole UFC could be taking roids.

Also do remember

"May 19 (Bloomberg) -- Toronto doctor Anthony Galea, who has treated golfer Tiger Woods and Major League Baseball?s Alex Rodriguez, was charged with smuggling human growth hormone and unlawfully distributing it within the U.S., including to National Football League players"

I would think people would have gained some level of respect for lasting three with JDS, just based on what JDS has done to everyone else. Roy is a very well rounded fighter and might get murdered by Carwin, but that's a fight I'd love to see. Roy is more technical and Shane is more powerful. Roy has the way better ground game thoug, if he was smart that's where he'd want that fight to go.

Since Roy's last fight was for a title shot and Carwin lost his title shot' date=' doesn't a Carwin v. Nelson matchup make the most sense at this point? Maybe they already know of their next match up and are starting the build-up. Just a thought...[/quote']

That was the rumour before the fight, that the winner got a title shot and the loser got Carwin, so hopefully it'll pan out that way.

The accusations are from 2006.
