Welterweight Champ if GSP moves up and vacates?

I put Fitch just because Shields has not fought a fight yet in the UFC, but he could very well end up being better than Fitch. After the Kampann fight and maybe 2-3 others we can see where Shields stands in the division.

BJ I dont think will move back up to welterweight unless it is to get a third match with GSP. Alves and Hardy I dont think will become champions because they will be dominated by the wrestlers at the top of the welterweight division.

Thiago does not look ready yet to become a top contender in the welterweight division, but he has a ton of potential and could in the future be a top contender. Koscheck could definitely make a run at it, but I am not sure he is just too unpredictable.

No because GSP made him look like he was nothing.

Let's see he isn't as good of a striker as Alves.

He can't out grapple...well anybody.

How the hell is he gonna become champion?

Yes GSP did, but he did 0 damage to Hardy and Hardy was able to stand-up off his back 3 times i believe.

Alves is a terrible excuse for a WW imho. He has the grappling of a cancer patient and never makes weight.

Well with a purple belt under Eddie Bravo he looked pretty stout off his back, only time will tell how good he will get.

How will anyone else be champion? dont bash me because i happen to believe in fighters i like

Guess nearly breaking his arm doesn't count eh?

Aves is big and misses weight but thats where he is and as long as he's there he's gonna hold the title for best striker. People need to quit complaining.

A purple belt under anybody isn't going to get you far in that level of competition especially when most of the guys in that division are top grapplers.

Fitch is the second best WW in the world. He has beat pretty much everyone except for GSP.

Alves like I said is a better striker than Hardy and has a shot against anybody.

Kos is a top wrestler with decent kickboxing. He actually poses the biggest threat to GSP because he will try to finish unlike Fitch but Fitch and Alves would tool him.

Shields is like Fitch but with better submissions.

Then comes your boy Hardy with excellent striking and a piss poor ground game.

By the way I'm not bashing you but Hardy just isn't good enough to take on the top 5 guys.

You obviously dont know who Eddie Bravo is, and if that purple belt was so unimportant how come Hardy walked out unscaved?

Alves hasnt T(KO)ed any top(by your definition) competition, granted neither has Hardy but Alves style is the worst in the UFC. What good is deadly muay thai if you cant push forward w/o being takendown?

Fitch and shields probably would beat Hardy in the same fashion GSP did but im hoping he has the work ethic and trains his grappling enough to were he can beat the **** out of those decision cranking excuses for fighters

That's just it he didn't walk out unscathed his BJJ skills didn't keep him from getting submitted him having the heart to let GSP bend the arm was what saved him.

Eddie Bravo may be a total stud when it comes to BJJ but like I said a purple belt under anybody won't do a lot considering that it equals out to about a yellow or green belt in karate. And if Hardy is just learning BJJ he should go to a more traditional place because 10th Planet is more geared towards funky submissions from weird positions.

I don't think he will be able to defend their takedowns or grapple back to his feet against any of them any time soon.

The good news is Hardy is 28 and Fitch Kos and Shields are all in their 30s so he has time to grow and they'll probably pass their prime in the next couple of years.

The bad news is Thiago Alves is still only 26 so he'll be hitting his peak right around then.
