If English is not your first lang and you try to speak English I applaud you for trying to learn the hardest lang in the world. BJJ imo is over-rated. You can be stylistically proficient in one MMA style but that doesn't mean your style is the best its how u execute your style to win the match. And striking, that is a must, and i think is the purest and most devasting aspect of MMA. On the street in a one on one fight is BJJ enough? You bet it is. Most guys on the street arent going to know how to strike well enough to nullify your BJJ. You can criple most people easily regardless of their size if you have good BJJ and they are untrained. But in the cage, betting on just your BJJ is a losing bet most of the time. Maybe his first language is English.Doesn't take a genius to realize this.If you can constructively put his paragraph together,and understand it.Then stop whining.His points aren't completely accurate.It doesn't take just BJJ to win a fight.Many factors come into play with MMA.If a good wrestler is good at keeping top control and transitioning enough.Also can defend any submissions.Then a BJJ is worthless on the ground.Till they can actually register and make a sub attempt.It all depends on the submission artist as well.Anderson Silva isn't a great BJJ specialist.It took him awhile to even attempt a sub while getting an onslaught by Chael on top.So technically you can't just win fights in the UFC with BJJ in your arsenal.Look at all the gracies.That's proof right there.Obviously this guy is a troll too.Kind of like BrockSmash. I think being a great striker and wrestler with a splash of BJJ is better than straight up BJJ with a splash of striking and wrestling. Having a great wrestling base with the ability to takedown anyone like Chael Sonnen or Rampage in the Pride days, with the ability to defend against submissions and the knowledge to do them is far superior than knowing all BJJ skills and defense, with a weaker ability to take down and strike. Look at it like this - if you have a strong wrestling pedigree and the opponent has a strong BJJ background, the wrestler is more effective at sprawling and will more likely keep the fight standing, away from the BJJ guys strong point. Chael vs Anderson is different because Anderson is more dangerous on his feet. Besides that, as you saw in most of the 117 main event, UFC 100 main event, most GSP fights, and most other fights, if you are good enough of a wrestler with BJJ knowledge you can prevent any dominating BJJ techniques from being used, control the wrists, pass the guard, and just GNP the opponent.
