The_Ultimate_Blighter
Two big fights in as many weeks, and two very distinguished wrestlers fall. Feijao's destruction of King Mo and Silva's sub of Sonnen show the blueprints to beating the uber-dominant wrestler. It is exciting to see that the gritty wrestler can't have it all their own way. I was worried that the more conservative fighters (like Fitch) would literally just grind everyone slowly and methodically. These two fights (I hope) show a vital step in the evolution of the sport. Fighters may get taken down but they can hop straight back to their feet. Even in the fifth round - with the excessive sweat that Joe Rogan loves commenting on - top notch BJJ can still pull the win. Coming from a country where the closest we have to a double-leg take down is a rugby tackle; this has to be promising news....
FerociousKO
IMO mma is always changing, Royce dominated with his bjj, chuck with his striking and tdd and now the norm is for elite wrestlers to LnP. No one style will dominate and i hope we are seeing the end of the wrestlers reigin.
Jamhet
These two fights (I hope) show a vital step in the evolution of the sport. Nonsense.Evolution means a general trend. You cannot just talk about two or three particular fights and call it a reference for the whole sport. The next GSP fight, just like the last one, will most probably show otherwise. Will you then make a an opposite call as regards where the evolution goes? Haha.

dfwGSP
Chael isn't a dominant wrestler. A dominant wrestler has great takedowns, top control, and submission defense. He has 2 of the 3. Start this thread again after Brock gets sub'd, and I'll have no argument.

Wrestling is all about being in control of where the fight goes. Submission defence comes from other martial arts predominantly.

But in a general sense it pertains to any formation of growth or development. And I did write "I hope" by the way, make sure you read things clearly before you nit-pick. You might have dug yourself into a hole with the GSP call. haha
