Strongest_minds_prevail
They are both similar fighters with excellent standup but will probabley never be the champion in their division.
dfwGSP
I'd say it's a great comparison.
ForrestGriffinFan101
I think JDS has better striking and a lot better TDD.
dfwGSP
I think JDS has better striking and a lot better TDD. Most definitely, but I don't think he's faced a good enough wrestler to say he has good TDD.

Pengu
can he be a champion ye, but i dont think his gonna be like a long term champion, think he MIGHT win it, but wont keep the belt for long.
Shady_Champ
JDS has better TDD and is better @ getting up once taken down.
Furious_George66
Reasonable comparison, though its pretty hard to say what JDS's ground game is like, so far we know his takedown defense is decent, but who knows, maybe Lesnar will take him down and JDS throws a quick submission on him. Impossible to say so far.
JHenry
T.Silva has a much better ground game imho, and hes one of the bigger fighters in his division. JDS has the undoubtable better striking between the two(although Silvas is very good) but lacks a ground game i think. Only time will tell if he can just KO his way to a title or if he'll get takendown and gassed. Both have a very good chance to win the title in the future
button_man
similar, but silva mostly goes for gnp while jds is more on his stand up.
MABFanForLife
Good comparison. And I do agree. As long as guys like Lesnar, Velasquez, and Carwin are at the top of the HW division, I don't expect JDS to hold the gold.
Drew1211
i would say they are similar
Infamous505
Pretty similar fighters but no i think JDS has a way better chance to be a champion LHW divison is way to unpredictable nobody has held onto the title since Chuck
CarlLane
Thiago is more 'set up the power' JDS is more technique technique technique to set up more technique
HIMBOB
I would call Silva the harder hitter (in his division) and JDS the better striker. So I said no but prob should have gone yes.
ForcexrecoN
They are both similar fighters with excellent standup but will probabley never be the champion in their division. YOU JUST WAIT. What does JDS have to worry about? A Lesnar who curls into fetal position when being hit? A Carwin who beats himself via Gastank? A Velasquez who had trouble with Kongo? JDS future HW champion and King
Chute_Boxe_Champion
i say no but let's see a wrestler face him first BTW i'm on the bandwagon haha ever since i saw him beat werdum one of the first fights i watched haha

I can assure you that Dos Santos' ground game is just fine. Good enough to hang with anyone in the HW division should they manage to get him down. Junior Dos Santos WILL BE the Heavyweight ruler of the future. Will he win it in his first crack? That likely depends on who he has to face. I predict a victory over Velasquez, but I'm not so sure about Lesnar. Regardless, even if he loses to Brock in his first attempt, he will learn from that fight and make his way back to the top.. where he will stay for a very long time. You always want to be the best mixed martial artist than you can be. Why would you WANT to fight off your back, if you believe that your striking is better than the guy standing across from you? That would just be stupid.
