Stealing victories

how does this work? I thought that judges noted on paper after EVERY single round and not all 3/5 rounds at the end of the fight... am I wrong about this assumption? without flaming Penn, just answer the question :) (It's NOT the purpose of this thread to flame anyone :)) I heard him say that in some pre-ufc118 interviews about Frankie trying to steal the fight with his celebration.. also on TUF when fighters, after the fight has gone the distance, getting told by their cornermen to raise their arms for the judges to see they "won"

They do record every single round. But considering that the fight was 2 rounds to 2 rounds going into the 5th' date=' the 5th round winner would win the fight. So if you managed to "steal" that last round, you would have stolen the fight.[/quote']

By saying "steal" you mean cheer yourself to victory? :)

Who knows. It's ********' date=' but that's never stopped BJ's mouth before.[/quote']

hehe indeed not :) well if it IS so, then I think that judges should not be allowed to look at the fighters/octagon after the fight is over and they have handed in the scorecards! I know it sounds crazy and childish but if it really gets the judges biased then I only think it's fair really

This is really dumb. The real reason Edgar raised his hands was because he knew he had won the fight. So did his corner' date=' the audiance, and most importantly BJ. Penn is just making excuses again.[/quote']

did I ask for this opinion? gawd! read the ****ing post before you make a comment!

After every round. Thats why they tell you to put your hands up after every round to sway the judges.. In a close fight it can make a difference, and when one fighter has his hands up at the end of the round and the other fight looks tired even if it was a close fight that might sway the judges.
